Non-isolated resonant link DC–DC converter for use with GaN devices

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
As new wide band-gap (WBG) devices are developed and improved, new topologies and control schemes are required to take advantage of the ultra-fast switching turn on/off speeds that are now available, without the limitations of switching losses and ...

Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Experimental studies of the hydrodynamic characteristics of a sloped wave energy device [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Many wave energy convertors are designed to use either vertical (heave) or horizontal (surge) movements of waves. But the frequency response of small heaving buoys and oscillating water column devices shows that they are too stiff and so their resonance

Morphing control strategy of wide input voltage DR‐LLC converter for vehicle power supply

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
Electric vehicles have experienced substantial global growth. However, significant fluctuations in the output voltage of power batteries and abrupt changes in the input voltage of DC–DC converters pose major challenges to their safety and reliability ...

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Virtual prototype and GaN HEMT based high frequency LLC converter design

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Gallium nitride (GaN) high-electron-mobility transistor (HEMT) with the merits of the fast switch speed, low on resistance and low switch loss is applicable to high-frequency LLC converters.

Heterotropic regulation and negative homotropic cooperativity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We identified a structural module common to some proteins that couple negative cooperativity with heterotropic regulation, two features that rarely coexist. These proteins are ring‐like and present an ordered asymmetry whereby noncontacting subunits are symmetric, and their tertiary structure differs from that of contacting subunits.

State observation control strategy of bidirectional resonant DC/DC converter in building DC system

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
This paper proposes a state observation control method for a bidirectional CLLLC resonant converter to solve the problem of output voltage stability of an isolated bidirectional DC–DC converter in building DC power distribution systems.

PLL controller for achieving zero-voltage switching (ZVS) in inductorless half-bridge drive piezoelectric transformer resonant power supplies

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Inductorless half-bridge, piezoelectric transformer (PT) resonant power supplies require careful control if zero-voltage switching (ZVS) of the MOSFETs is to be achieved.
