Waterbird zoogeochemical effects shape wetland nutrient dynamics and algal communities in Laurentian Great Lakes coastal freshwater wetlands

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
Distinct waterbird species influence nutrient cycling through guano contributions in Great Lakes coastal wetlands. Waterbird‐derived nutrients favour distinct algal communities and wetland sediments rapidly remove waterbird nutrients via biogeochemical processes.

Environmental drivers influencing the ambrosia beetle community: The primary role of geographic and climatic drivers in chestnut‐growing areas

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, EarlyView.
Ethanol‐baited traps were placed in cultivated chestnut orchards (a) and mixed environments with assorted tree composition (b), over a 2‐year monitoring period in two valleys (NW Italy). A total of 118,286 ambrosia beetles was collected, representing six species.

RDA (Resource Description and Access) – geneza i koncepcja

open access: yesPrzegląd Biblioteczny, 2015
Teza/cel artykułu – Przedstawiono główne założenia nowych amerykańskich zasad katalogowania, RDA – Resource Description and Access. Wskazano na genezę RDA, w tym związek z modelem konceptualnym danych wykorzystanym w strukturze FRBR i FRAD, w którym obiektem analizy są jednostki, ich atrybuty oraz relacje między jednostkami.

Taxonomic and functional diversity of urban bees of the world

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Bees play a pivotal role in terrestrial environments. Urbanization can affect these organisms and the ecosystem services they provide. However, knowledge of the global diversity of urban bees is limited. Thus, we summarized data on urban bee species identities and occurrences; compared distributions of all bees with those found in urban ...

Forest edges buffer effects of agricultural management on bee–plant interaction networks

open access: yesEcological Entomology, EarlyView.
Agricultural management effects: Organic and conventional crop margins host similar bee and plant species, but network structure differs: organic farms exhibit higher interaction diversity, conventional farms higher connectance. Role of forest edges: Native forest edges stabilize bee–plant networks by providing continuous floral resources and suitable ...

Self‐Differentiation and Mentalization in Couple Adjustment: An Actor–Partner Mediation Model

open access: yesFamily Relations, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine whether mentalization mediates the association between self‐differentiation and dyadic adjustment in couples using a dyadic model. Background Self‐differentiation (balancing intimacy and autonomy) and mentalization (understanding one's own and others' mental states) are both linked to relationship functioning, yet their ...

Empirical prediction of organic matter digestibility in grasses, legumes and their mixtures from dairy farms in Atlantic Spain

open access: yesGrassland Science, EarlyView.
Abstract This study characterized the chemical composition and organic matter digestibility (OMD) of herbage from commercial dairy farms in Galicia (NW Spain), a humid‐temperate Atlantic region, and developed empirical prediction equations for OMD based on routine wet‐chemistry traits.

Sheep and cattle grazing regimes differentially affect ground beetle and ant communities in Mediterranean cork oak woodlands

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
Sheep and cattle grazing significantly shape ant and ground beetle species composition in Mediterranean cork oak woodlands, promoting higher diversity by increasing habitat heterogeneity. Ground beetles and ants reflect changes in grazing regimes, with sheep‐grazed areas showing the highest diversity, highlighting their utility in ecosystem monitoring.
