Resource-Constrained Assignment Scheduling

Operations Research, 1986
Many resource-constrained assignment scheduling problems can be modeled as 0-1 assignment problems with side constraints (APSC). Unlike the well-known assignment problem of linear programming, APSC is NP-complete. In this paper we define a branch-and-bound algorithm for solving APSC to optimality.

Secure and Latency-Aware Digital Twin Assisted Resource Scheduling for 5G Edge Computing-Empowered Distribution Grids

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, 2022
Digital twin (DT) provides accurate guidance for multidimensional resource scheduling in 5G edge computing-empowered distribution grids by establishing a digital representation of the physical entities. In this article, we address the critical challenges

Resource Scheduling Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning in UAV Assisted Emergency Communication Networks

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2022
Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) assisted emergency communication is an important technique for future B5G/6G scenario. The UAV is usually considered as a mobile relay to forward information from the macro base station (MBS) to the users in emergency area ...

Edge–Cloud Resource Scheduling in Space–Air–Ground-Integrated Networks for Internet of Vehicles

IEEE Internet of Things Journal, 2021
The space–air–ground-integrated network (SAGIN) can enhance the performance of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). However, the basic hardware differences among communication systems are large, which leads to communication difficulties between different ...

A3C-DO: A Regional Resource Scheduling Framework Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning in Edge Scenario

IEEE transactions on computers, 2021
Currently, huge amounts of data are produced by edge device. Considering the heavy burden of network bandwidth and the service delay requirements of delay-sensitive applications, processing the data at network edge is a great choice.

Reconfigurable resource scheduling

Proceedings of the eighteenth annual ACM symposium on Parallelism in algorithms and architectures, 2006
We consider a class of scheduling problems that we refer to as reconfigurable resource scheduling. This class of problems is motivated by emerging applications that involve dynamically allocating a large number of shared resources to a variety of services. We design efficient online algorithms for certain problems in this class.

Energy-Aware Resource Scheduling for Serverless Edge Computing

IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Cluster, Cloud and Internet Computing, 2022
In this paper, we present energy-aware scheduling for Serverless edge computing. Energy awareness is critical since edge nodes, in many Internet of Things (IoT) domains, are meant to be powered by renewable energy sources that are variable, making low ...
