Objective JAK inhibitors (JAKis) have shown promising effects in early‐phase studies of SSc. We aimed to assess the safety and explore effectiveness of JAKis compared to conventional immunosuppressants in SSc. Methods A longitudinal retrospective study of the EUSTAR cohort was performed.

A multivalent DNA nanostructure‐enabled lateral flow assay was developed for rapid, ultrasensitive detection of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) nucleocapsid protein. Designer net‐shaped DNA nanostructures (DNA‐Net) presenting PEDV‐specific aptamers achieved ~1000‐fold enhanced binding, enabling detection of viral copies with Ct ≤ 37.42 within 10

Pathogenetic complexes in treatment of patients with viral respiratory infections
According to WHO, the share of acute respiratory infections (ARVI) is about 70–90% of all infectious diseases. Despite their relatively short-term course, they suffer significant economic damage due to high turnover among the population and temporary ...

Respiratory viral infections are a major cause of illness in children, especially those living with HIV. Co-infections may worsen immune suppression and accelerate HIV disease progression, yet data on their impact in pediatric populations remain limited.

The transmission dynamics of groups A and B human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV) in England & Wales and Finland: seasonality and cross-protection [PDF]
Human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV) transmission dynamics are inherently cyclical, and the observed genetic diversity (between groups A and B) also appears to have a repeating pattern.

The intimate interaction between negatively charged RNA molecules and conjugated polymers in organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) in aqueous electrolytes is investigated. It demonstrates that RNA binding reduces the volumetric capacitance of the polymer channel, enabling the development of an ultrasensitive biosensing platform capable of ...

Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

Restricted visiting reduces nosocomial viral respiratory tract infections in high-risk neonates
Restricting visitors on the neonatal intensive care unit to parents only during a worldwide pandemic resulted in a 39% reduction in nosocomial viral respiratory tract infections in neonatal patients.
