Development of a real-time RT-qPCR assay for the detection of porcine respirovirus 1
Journal of Virological Methods, 2021Porcine respirovirus 1 (PRV1) was first reported in the pig nasopharyngeal samples in Hong Kong in 2013. It has been widespread in US swine herds. Recently, PRV1 was also detected in South America and European countries. Currently, there is no validated diagnostic assay available for the detection of this virus.

First report of porcine respirovirus 1 in Brazil
Microbial Pathogenesis, 2023Porcine respirovirus 1 (PRV1), currently referred to as Respirovirus suis, was first described in deceased pigs at a Hong Kong slaughterhouse. Since then, PRV1 strains have been detected in pig herds in American, European, and Asian countries. Considering that Brazil is the fourth-largest global producer and exporter of pork, we aimed to detect the ...

First report of Porcine respirovirus 1 in South Korea
Transboundary and Emerging Diseases, 2022Porcine respirovirus 1 (PRV1) is a recently emerging porcine respiratory virus that belongs to the genus Respirovirus of the Paramyxoviridae family. Since its first detection in Hong Kong, China in 2009, PRV1 has been subsequently identified in several American and European countries, suggesting that the emerging virus may have been globally ...

Porcine respirovirus 1 (PRV1) is widely spread in many countries. In this study, we isolated an emgerging PRV1 strain (KS17-258) from a US swine farm. A full-length genome sequence of the virus was obtained, and the mRNA editing mechanism utilized for the expression of V/W proteins by P gene was confirmed.

The peripheral white blood count in respirovirus infection
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1966The peripheral white blood counts and differentials of 246 infants and children with lower respiratory disease and 96 asymptomatic patients with similar viral infections were analyzed and compared. The median white blood count (WBC) for patients with lower respiratory disease was 14,465 per cubic millimeter.

Bovine respirovirus 3 also known as Bovine parainfluenza virus type 3 (BPIV3) is one of the most important viral respiratory agents of both young and adult cattle. Rapid diagnosis could contribute greatly in containing epidemics and thus avoid economic losses. However, the lack of robust isothermal visual method poses difficulty. In this study, a novel

The emergence of novel pathogens at the wildlife-livestock interface is an increasing global concern, with implications that extend beyond regional ecosystems, due to their potential impacts on biodiversity, animal health, and public health worldwide. A novel respirovirus phylogenetically related to Caprine respirovirus 3 (CRV3) identified in goats and
