Postprandial Glucagon Action in the Human Brain

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 7, Page 5926-5938, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Elevated fasting glucagon is linked to hyperglycemia, but postprandial glucagon effects are less understood. Recent evidence suggests metabolic benefits of rising glucagon after oral glucose intake, potentially impacting brain‐mediated whole‐body metabolism.

Conversational AI Agents: The Effect of Process and Outcome Variation on Anthropomorphism and Trust

open access: yesInformation Systems Journal, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 597-623, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Organisations increasingly deploy conversational AI agents (CAs) in agentic roles where behavioural variations are inevitable. Prior work often conflates two distinct forms of variation: outcome variation (where success fluctuates) and process variation (where the path to completion varies).

3D‐Printable, Honeycomb‐Inspired Tissue‐Like Bioelectrodes for Patient‐Specific Neural Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 31, 2 June 2026.
3D printed MRI‐compatible tissue‐like neural electrodes tailored to individual gyral patterns. This honeycomb‐inspired printable gel electrode (HiPGE) employs a bioinspired architecture with soft hydrogels, engineered to match the softness of brain tissue.

Structural Eigenmodes of the Brain to Improve the Source Localization of EEG: Application to Epileptiform Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
Geometry and connectivity are complementary structures, which have demonstrated their ability to represent the brain's functional activity. This study evaluates geometric and connectome eigenmodes as biologically informed constraints for EEG source localization.

Distinct Biotypes of Visual Perception in Major Depressive Disorder

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
In a discover dataset (272 acute MDD patients), this work identifies a novel depression biotype characterized by impaired visual motion perception, using machine learning clustering. An independent dataset confirms the robustness of this biotype through cross‐validation and demonstrates its generalizability.
