Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

DYNAMIC SOIL-STRUCTURE RESPONSE ANALYSIS OF AN IRAQI SOIL BASED ON GEOPHYSICAL TESTING

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2006
In this paper, soil – pore fluid behavior of a silo under an earthquake loading is investigated. To predict the response of the silo with the soil surrounding it, ‘the linear-elastic constitutive model’ is adopted with soil properties; shear modulus and

Raman Spectroscopic Identification of Oxide Phases in a Corroded MgO–Steel Composite Anode Used in Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐Raman spectroscopy is applied to characterize corrosion products in a recycled‐based MgO–316L steel composite anode after molten salt electrolysis. A depth‐dependent Fe–O/Fe–Al–O layer sequence of magnetite, hercynite, and an Al‐doped magnetite transition zone is identified.

Validation of resting full-cycle ratio and diastolic pressure ratio with [15O]H2O positron emission tomography myocardial perfusion

open access: yesHeart and Vessels
AbstractFractional flow reserve (FFR) and instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) are invasive techniques used to evaluate the hemodynamic significance of coronary artery stenosis. These methods have been validated through perfusion imaging and clinical trials.

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Análise citológica e cariométrica da ação da colchina sôbre a espermatogênese dos hemípteros Cytologic and caryometric analysis of the action of colchicine on the spermatogenesis in hemiptera

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1951
The action of colchicine upon the spermatogenesis of Triatoma infestans, (Hemipt. Heteroptera), has been studied and the different categories of giant spermatids that appear during the treatment have been compared with the nuclear volumes of the whole ...
