Twenty‐Four Hour Rest–Activity Rhythm Disturbances and Neural Alterations Associated With Emotion Regulation in Shift Workers

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examined the neural basis of emotion regulation in shift workers, and the relationships between the neural basis of emotion regulation, mood, sleep disturbance and 24‐h rest–activity rhythm (RAR). Fifty‐six shift workers (SW) with non‐standard shift schedules and 52 controls (CON) participated in this study.

Future Applications of Central Neuromodulation and Neurophysiological Testing in Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 37, Issue 3, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS) is defined by its episodic patterning. Furthermore, CVS is associated with other episodic disorders such as migraine and epilepsy. Indeed, many of the medications that are known to be useful for prophylaxis and abortive therapy in CVS are also effective in preventing and aborting migraines and seizures.

Twenty-five years of research on resting-state fMRI of major depressive disorder: A bibliometric analysis of hotspots, nodes, bursts, and trends

open access: yesHeliyon
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a debilitating mental health condition that poses significant risks and burdens. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has emerged as a promising tool in investigating the neural mechanisms ...

A Heavy Feeling in the Stomach: Neural Correlates of Anxiety in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, EarlyView.
Resting‐state fMRI revealed distinct anxiety‐related functional connectivity patterns in Crohn's disease (CD) patients and healthy controls. In CD, higher anxiety correlated with increased connectivity, while in controls, it correlated with decreased connectivity.

Two‐year impact of COVID‐19: Longitudinal MRI brain changes and neuropsychiatric trajectories

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, Volume 79, Issue 4, Page 176-186, April 2025.
Aim Up to 10% of SARS‐CoV‐2 infected individuals suffer from post‐COVID‐19 condition, marked by fatigue and cognitive dysfunction as major symptoms. Longitudinal studies on neuropsychological and clinical trajectories and related brain changes are scarce. Here, we aimed to examine their evolution up to 2 years post‐infection. Methods In a multi‐center,
