Genetic Association Analysis of Dopamine DRD3 Ser9Gly Polymorphism and Schizophrenia in Malay Population [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2011
"nBackground: Molecular components of the dopamine receptor (DRD3) play an important role in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia (SCZ). Previous studies have demonstrated an association between the DRD3 Ser9Gly polymorphism and SCZ but the results ...

Is Mycobacterial InhA a Suitable Target for Rational Drug Design?

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
InhA is the target of isoniazid, a first‐line antituberculosis drug. Isoniazid is, in fact, a prodrug that needs to be activated. Researchers are trying to develop direct inhibitors of InhA. This includes the resolution of crystallographic structures. The Protein Data Bank contains over a hundred InhA structures.

Epigenotoxicity: Decoding the epigenetic imprints of genotoxic agents and their implications for regulatory genetic toxicology

open access: yesEnvironmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, EarlyView.
Abstract Regulatory genetic toxicology focuses on DNA damage and subsequent gene mutations. However, genotoxic agents can also affect epigenetic marks, and incorporation of epigenetic data into the regulatory framework may thus enhance the accuracy of risk assessment.

The Impact of the Rs1044457 Polymorphism in the CMPK1 Gene on the Response Rate to Gemcitabine‐Based Chemotherapy in Metastatic NSCLC Patients

open access: yesAdvanced Genetics, EarlyView.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer‐related mortality worldwide. Among its types, non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for the majority of cases. This study focuses on investigating genetic mutations that may influence the response to gemcitabine, a chemotherapy drug commonly used to treat this condition.
