N-Site approximations and CAM analysis for a stochastic sandpile
I develop n-site cluster approximations for a stochastic sandpile in one dimension. A height restriction is imposed to limit the number of states: each site can harbor at most two particles (height z_i \leq 2).

Retrofitting the BAC cloning vector pBeloBAC11 by the insertion of a mutant loxP site
Objective Human genomic libraries constructed in bacterial artificial chromosome vectors were utilized to make physical maps of all 23-chromosome pairs and as the templates for DNA sequencing to aid in the completion of the Human Genome Project. The goal

We investigate the seasonal dynamics of two freshwater snails, Biomphalaria straminea and Melanoides tuberculata, in artificial reservoirs of the Brazilian semiarid region. Despite regulated hydrology, B. straminea exhibited strong seasonal fluctuations associated with dry periods, while M. tuberculata maintained stable populations throughout the year,

Moving in the Dark: Enlightening the Spatial Population Ecology of European Cave Salamanders
We assessed individual interactions, movement ecology and activity patterns of a subterranean population of Speleomantes strinatii, applying spatial capture–recapture modeling to a photographic dataset of 104 individuals. ABSTRACT Space use and movement are fundamental aspects of organisms' ecology, mirroring individual fitness, behavior, and life ...

The two-hole ground state of the Hubbard-Anderson model, approximated by a variational RVB-type wave function [PDF]
In this paper the Hubbard-Anderson model on a square lattice with two holes is studied. The ground state (GS) is approximated by a variational RVB-type wave function. The holes interact by exchange of a localized spin excitation (SE), which is created or

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

Sandpiles with height restrictions
We study stochastic sandpile models with a height restriction in one and two dimensions. A site can topple if it has a height of two, as in Manna's model, but, in contrast to previously studied sandpiles, here the height (or number of particles per site),

loxP-Directed Cloning: Use of Cre Recombinase as a Universal Restriction Enzyme
We have developed a novel way to use the Cre/loxP system for in vitro manipulation of DNA and a technique to clone DNA into circular episomes. The method is fast, reliable, and allows flexible cloning of DNA fragments into episomes containing a loxP site.
