Recent Result From the $$ \bar pp $$ Collider

1983
The suggestion to convert the CERN SPS into a proton-antiproton collider[1] was motivated by the expectation that the centre-of-mass energy of 540 GeV (an order of magnitude higher than that at existing accelerators) would make it possible to search for the intermediate vector bosons (IVB) W±, Z° predicted by the Standard model of electroweak ...

New results of the Borexino experiment: pp solar neutrino detection

2015
The Borexino experiment is an ultra-pure liquid scintillator detector, running at Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (Italy). Borexino has completed the real time spectroscopy of the solar neutrinos generated in the proton-proton chain in the core of the Sun.

New Results on Polarization and Depolarization in pp Elastic Scattering

1976
This paper presents the results of two experiments conducted recently at the Argonne ZGS. One experiment measured the Wolfenstein D parameter at 3 and 6 GeV/c. The other determined the polarization at large |t| at 12 GeV/c. Both experiments used the same apparatus except that a carbon scattering polarimeter was added for the experiment to measure D ...

Communication of the results of the “Primary Production in the Sahel (PPS)” research project

Soil and Tillage Research, 1987
Abstract The main conclusions of the Malian-Dutch “Primary Production in the Sahel (PPS)” research project, which was carried out during 1976–1981 (Penning de Vries and Djiteye, 1982), may be summarized as follows: (1) poor soil quality is just as great a barrier to rural development as water shortage; (2) animal production is high per unit area ...

On some remarkable differences between the pp collider results at CERN and pp reactions at ISR energies

Journal of Physics G: Nuclear Physics, 1988
The author has pinpointed some crucial differences between the observations made at the CERN pp collider at S12/=540 GeV and pp reactions in the ISR range of energies and has tried to analyse them in the light of a version of the sequential chain model.

pp Elastic Scattering: New results from EDDA (COSY)

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2000
In the EDDA experiment excitation functions of proton-proton elastic scattering are studied with narrow steps in the projectile momentum range from 0.8 to 3.4 GeV/c and the angular range 35°⩽Θcm⩽90° with a detector providing ΔΘcm≈1.4° resolution and 85% solid angle coverage.

Results of a Salvage Excavation at Kabri (pp. 19–39)

'Atiqot
Salvage excavations at Tel Kabri, located in the western Upper Galilee, revealed part of a Middle Bronze Age II fortification system and architectural remains from the Early Bronze Age and MB II. The pottery finds date to the Early Chalcolithic period, Early Bronze Age I, Middle Bronze Age II and Iron Age II.
