Journal of Small Animal Practice, EarlyView.This mini‐review describes the pathophysiology of the disrupted hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis in dogs, and probably cats, with the MDR1 (ABCB1) mutation, ABCB1‐1Δ in dogs and ABCB11930‐1931del TC in cats.
