Analysis of Corrosion and Wall Perforation in the Heat Exchanger Made of AISI 316L Stainless Steel

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
Elevated passivation temperature is identified as the dominant factor triggering localized corrosion and subsequent perforation of AISI 316L heat exchanger tubes. Electrochemical and complementary characterization results show that the alloy retains high resistance to general, pitting, and intergranular corrosion, indicating that failure primarily ...

Synergistic enhancement of strength and ductility in Fe–10Mn-0.4C steel via short-time partitioning and cold rolling

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
In the conventional preparation of medium-manganese high-strength steel, hot rolling or cold rolling processes are primarily employed, interspersed with isothermal tempering to ensure the mechanical properties of the steel.

Using the Principles of Image Analysis in the Assessment of the Proportion of Retained Austenite in the Case Hardened Layers

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2017
Structures of carburized layers after the surface saturation process in gaseous, liquid or solid medium and after subsequent heat treatment (hardening and low-temperature tempering) consist mainly of high carbon plate martensite with a certain portion of

Symbolic Regression‐Guided Feature Engineering for Predicting Magnetization in Cu‐Based Alloys Under Data‐Scarce Conditions

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
A symbolic regression approach (SISSO) with physics‐informed feature engineering achieves high‐accuracy prediction of magnetic properties in Cu‐based alloys under data‐scarce conditions. The framework offers an interpretable and transferable strategy for accelerated alloy design.

Transferable Hot‐Deformation Flow‐Curve Modeling Across Steels Through Transfer Learning

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
We propose a transferable sequence model that moves steel hot‐deformation ML beyond the “one‐case, one‐model” paradigm. Pretrained across compositions/windows and personalized with four extreme‐condition curves, it improves accuracy and robustness in 10‐fold evaluation.
