Investigation of Retention Behaviour in Packed Column SFC

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1989
AbstractRetention behaviour in supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) with packed columns was investigated using two model mixtures. Xanthine bases (caffeine, theophylline, theobromine) were chosen as a relatively polar group while fat‐soluble vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin D2, vitamin E) were taken as a mixture of lower polarity.

Prediction of retention behaviour of some phenolic antioxidants

Journal of Chromatography A, 1981
Abstract The possibility of the prediction of retention behaviour was studied in reversed-phase liquid chromatography on a macroporous organic gel (Separon SE) with methanol-water as eluent. Linear dependences were found in the effect of the mobile phase composition on the retention of all the solutes tested. For the prediction of retention data in a

Retention behaviour of graphene oxide resistive switching memory

International Journal of Nanotechnology, 2014
Graphene oxide (GO) has recently been proposed as one of the potential resistive switching materials for future nonvolatile memory applications. In this work, we present a flexible resistive memory device with the structure of aluminium (Al)/GO/ indium tin oxide (ITO) fabricated at room temperature.

Applying organisational behaviour theory to aid emergency staff retention

Journal of Paramedic Practice, 2021
The purpose of this theoretical concept article is to spark a dialogue on the use of organisational behaviour theory to address emergency responder retention. In the United States, emergency medical services (EMS) appear to be burdened with continuing problems of retaining staff.

Reversed-phase liquid chromatographic retention behaviour of catechol amino-acids

Talanta, 1985
For a group of catechol amino-acids varying widely in acid strength and hydrophobicity, the effects of mobile phase composition, pH and ionic strength on their reversed-phase chromatographic separation have been determined, with phosphate buffer as mobile phase. Retention data were measured for 18 catecholamine derivatives.

Retention behaviour of polystyrene oligomers in reversed-phase liquid chromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 2002
Reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) was employed to investigate the behaviour of low-molecular-mass polystyrene oligomers with three different end groups, n-butyl, sec-butyl, and tert.-butyl polystyrenes. Exothermodynamic retention studies on the polystyrene oligomers were carried out using a C18 stationary phase column and 100% methanol mobile

Finnish family forest owners' retention tree management behaviour

2008
In Scandinavia a widely adopted biodiversity maintenance measure in managed forests is to leave retention trees to the clearcutting areas. A certain number of retention trees are left to the cutting area permanently as residual trees, which distinguishes them from shelterwood and seed trees.

Parasites enhance self-grooming behaviour and information retention in humans

Behavioural Processes, 2014
Self-grooming is a common behavioural strategy used by various animals to reduce parasite loads. We experimentally tested the adaptive significance of self-grooming model in a sample of Slovak participants. Propensity to self-grooming was activated by visual presence of parasites with verbal information about health risks caused by parasites suggesting

THYROID HORMONES AND THE ACQUISITION AND RETENTION OF BEHAVIOURAL RESPONSES

Endocrinology, 1989
Naive rats placed in a plexiglass cylinder from a 15 minute test period show progressive immobility, and retain the immobile response when given a 5-minute retest 24 hours later. In the present study we show that hypothyroidism markedly attenuates the acquisition of the immobile response; that this effect on acquisition is reversed 5-10 minutes after ...

Water retention behaviour of tailings in unsaturated conditions

2021
Tailing dams are complex geotechnical systems comprising of an embankment and a basin containing the waste products from the mining processes. These structures are characterized by a wide surface exposed to the atmosphere whose interaction governs the position of the phreatic surface within the basin.
