Modelling of UPLC behaviour of acylcarnitines by quantitative structure–retention relationships
Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2014In the present work, the retention time (RT) of acylcarnitines, collected by ultra-performance liquid-chromatography after formation of butyl esters, is modelled by quantitative structure-retention relationship (QSRR) method. The investigated set consists of free carnitine and 46 different acylcarnitines, including the isomers commonly monitored in ...

Carboxylic acids: prediction of retention data from chromatographic and electrophoretic behaviours
Journal of Chromatography B: Biomedical Sciences and Applications, 1998A review of the main results reached in the prediction of retention data of carboxylic acids, inferred by their chromatographic and electrophoretic behaviour, is presented. Attention has been focused on the main separation methods used in carboxylic acids analysis, that is ion-exclusion, anion-exchange, reversed-phase (RP) liquid chromatography and ...

Retention behaviour of carbohydrate oligomers in reversed-phase chromatography
Journal of Chromatography A, 1984The retetnio behaviour of starch and cellulose hydrolysates on alkyl-modified silica columns using aqueous eluents has been studied. The influence of eluent pH, addition of sodium chloride or alcohols to the eluent, pore diameter of the silica support and chain length of the alkyl modification were investigated.

Hysteretic water-retention behaviour of unsaturated hydrophobised soils
GéotechniqueHydrophobised soils found in the superficial region of earthen infrastructure can affect the hydrological processes of these structures. The hysteretic water-retention curve (WRC), which governs these processes, for hydrophobised soils has rarely been reported.

Retention behaviour of51CrO4 2? species on ignited microcrystalline iodates
Mikrochimica Acta, 1977Influence of pH and that of added lattice and certain non-lattice ions has been studied towards instantaneous sorption of tracer51CrO4 2− ionic species on iodates of lead, barium and strontium. Carrying is postulated to take place by surface adsorption.

Long-term retention of behavioural habituation in the rat
Animal Behaviour, 1973Abstract The orienting response in rats was measured by the interruption in licking that occurred during the presentation of a tone stimulus. Habituation occurred after a mean of 6·3 presentations and there was complete retention of habituation for 72 hr, and 70 per cent retention after 288 hr.

On the fractal behaviour of water retention curves
2011Water retention curve (WRC) is analyzed by means of the fractal geometry approach. Three models accounting for the fractal distribution of either the pore and solid phase of unsaturated porous media have been considered. By using data collected during a field scale internal drainage, we determine the functional relationship between the WRC, and the ...

Water Retention Behaviour Explored by X-Ray CT Analysis
2012This study aims to experimentally characterise the link between partial water saturation and suction in a sand sample at the micro scale. The paper presents the first results of an experimental study in which high resolution (7.5μm/px) X-ray tomography has been performed on a small (10×10mm) cylindrical sample of Hostun HN31 sand at several different ...

Finnish family forest owners' retention tree management behaviour
In Scandinavia a widely adopted biodiversity maintenance measure in managed forests is to leave retention trees to the clearcutting areas. A certain number of retention trees are left to the cutting area permanently as residual trees, which distinguishes them from shelterwood and seed trees.Hänninen, Harri +2 more
