The spectrum of reticulate pigment disorders of the skin revisited

Reticulate Pigmented Anomaly of the Flexures
Archives of Dermatology, 1978• Acquired reticulate pigmentation of the flexures developed in ten patients. Additional features in some cases were pitted scars near the angles of the mouth and scattered dark comedone-like lesions on the neck (dark dot follicles). The disease affects both sexes, usually develops in early adult life, and is slowly progressive.

Reticulate pigmented anomaly of the flexures is a benign, recently described genodermatosis reported to involve the flexural areas as well as the scrotum. Described herein is a twenty-nine year old man in whom the characteristic speckled macules were limited to the scrotal and penile skin.

Pigmented Bowen disease arising in pigmented reticulated seborrheic keratosis
International Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2010A 76-year-old man consulted to our hospital complaining of a black tumor of the temporal head. The tumor was nodular mass measuring 1 × 1 × 0.6 cm and black. A clinical diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma was made, and an excision with wide margins was performed. Histologically, the tumor was symmetrical, with horny keratinization in the center.

Reticulate Pigmentation due to Bleomycin: Light- and Electron-Microscopic Studies
Dermatologica, 2009An unusual case of extensive reticulate pigmentation due to bleomycin is reported. Light- and electron-microscopic studies showed a marked increase of melanin pigment in the basal keratinocytes and a number of melanophages in the upper dermis. The number of melanocytes appeared to be normal.

Reticulate Pigmented Anomaly of the Flexures
Archives of Dermatology, 1982Reticulate pigmented anomaly of the flexures is a pigmented macular disease characterized by punctate, hyperpigmented macules on the flexural areas. Histopathologic findings include acanthosis, keratinization of the follicular infundibulum, and filiform downgrowths of epidermal cells.

PIGMENTED VILLONODULAR SYNOVITIS IN A RETICULATED GIRAFFE (GIRAFFA CAMELOPARDALIS)
Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, 2017: A 17-yr-old, female, captive-born reticulated giraffe ( Giraffa camelopardalis ) presented with acute-onset lameness of the right metacarpophalangeal (fetlock) joint. Despite multiple courses of treatment, the lameness and swelling progressively worsened over a 3.5-yr period, and the giraffe was euthanized.

Cyclophosphamide-induced generalised reticulated skin pigmentation: a rare presentation
International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy, 2013We describe a 55-year-old woman suffering from Sezary syndrome, had undergone chemotherapy consisting of cycles of cyclophosphamide and prednisone. 10 months later, she noticed a progressively increasing reticulated generalised pigmentation in the face, trunk and the extremities. Cylophosphamide was withdrawn.

Pigmentation and Pits at Uncommon Sites in a Case with Reticulate Acropigmentation of Kitamura
Dermatology, 2000Reticulate acropigmentation of Kitamura is now reported from all over the world. Additional features are being readily recognized. Our cases had pigmentation and pits on the dorsa of the distal phalanges of the fingers and toes – the classical features – as well as widely distributed pits on the palms, palmar aspect and sides of the fingers.
