Assessment of synthetic post-therapeutic OCT images using the generative adversarial network in patients with macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
AimsThe aim of this study is to generate post-therapeutic optical coherence tomography (OCT) images based on pre-therapeutic OCT by using generative adversarial networks (GANs).

Multicolor Retinal Imaging

open access: yesGüncel Retina Dergisi (Current Retina Journal), 2017
Multicolor imaging is a new technology that provides retinal and optic disc imaging. Different layers of retina can be imaged by using three different wavelength lasers (blue, green, infrared). Retina can be seen in detail and clearly. As it aids in following up the retinal diseases by documenting the images, it has been started used in retinal ...

Macrophage Extracellular Traps in Immunity and Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As a macrophage‐mediated innate defense mechanism, the dysregulated release of METs drives chronic inflammation and influences tumor progression. Furthermore, METs exhibit a functional duality within the tumor microenvironment, capable of both promoting and suppressing tumor development.

An On‐Demand Neuromorphic Vision System Enabled by a Multi‐Paradigm Neuromorphic Device and Hierarchical Reconfigurability Designed from Device to System Level

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An on‐demand ultra‐reconfigurable intelligent vision system with hierarchical reconfigurability from device to system levels is demonstrated. Through co‐design of a multi‐paradigm device, reconfigurable circuits, and adaptive system architecture/algorithms, the system enables seamless switching among spiking, non‐spiking, neuromorphic imaging (NI), and

Postsynaptic Complexin Mediates Constitutive Exocytosis of Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Beyond its established presynaptic role, complexin is identified as a postsynaptic regulator of neurotransmitter receptor trafficking. By promoting constitutive and activity‐dependent exocytosis of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, complexin controls spontaneous synaptic signaling at the C.

Deep learning-based classification of eye diseases using Convolutional Neural Network for OCT images

open access: yesFrontiers in Computer Science
Deep learning shows promising results in extracting useful information from medical images. The proposed work applies a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) on retinal images to extract features that allow early detection of ophthalmic diseases.

EFFECTUAL HUMAN AUTHENTICATION FOR CRITICAL SECURITY APPLICATIONS USING RETINAL IMAGES [PDF]

open access: yesICTACT Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2010
A robust method of human authentication based on the retinal blood vessel pattern is presented in this paper. This method entails a segmentation process to identify retinal blood vessel pattern, template generation consisting of the bifurcation points in

Cis‐ and Trans‐Regulatory Factors Independently Shape Phenotypic Heterogeneity of Retinitis Pigmentosa

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A zebrafish model carrying an identical human RHO S334X allele reveals two independent genetic layers shaping retinitis pigmentosa (RP) severity: a protective 3‐bp cis‐regulatory insertion that attenuates transgene expression, and a dominant trans‐acting modifier that restores a severe phenotype.

An Activity‐Dependent NEPAS–PTX3 Axis Links Neurovascular and Myelin Deficits to Cognitive Impairment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An activity‐dependent pathway links prefrontal circuit hypoactivity to cognitive impairment. Reduced PVA–mPFC activity upregulates NEPAS, which suppresses PTX3 secretion, leading to impaired angiogenesis, myelin deficits, and memory decline. Rescue is achieved by NEPAS knockdown or chemogenetic circuit activation.
