Multimodal Retinal Imaging: An Introduction

2013
Multimodal retinal imaging is a new concept in the diagnosis and follow-up of retinal disorders. It refers to the importance of combining diagnostic information related to both retinal morphology and function in a unique setting, possibly in a unique multifaceted image, to improve the final diagnostic result. When a multimodal imaging approach is used (

Kepler's Discovery of the Retinal Image

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1973
was deeply involved in analyzing the data, concentrating on the orbit of Mars. Eventually, he was to describe this orbit as elliptical in three histor¬ ic, mathematically precise state¬ ments on planetary motion. The first laws of nature in the modern sense, Kepler's equations were to provide Newton the basis for universal gravi¬ tation.

Flicker and the stabilised retinal image

Vision Research, 1968
Abstract The percentage of time (V) for which a sinusoidally flickered stabilised retinal image is visible, was measured for frequencies in the range 0–25 c/s, and in relation to several parameters. It was found that V reaches a maximum at a certain frequency, fp, and decreases fairly rapidly for frequencies either side.

Multimodal Imaging in Retinal Vasculitis

Ophthalmologica
Background: Retinal vasculitis is an inflammatory condition that affects the retinal blood vessels. Summary: It can manifest as an idiopathic disorder or be secondary to various infectious or non-infectious diseases, mimicking syndromes, isolated ocular disorders, or drug-induced reactions.

Advances in imaging retinal inflammation

Experimental Eye Research
Imaging of retinal inflammation has emerged as a promising approach for the diagnosis and management of a wide range of ocular inflammatory conditions, particularly those involving uveal edema-including the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. Recent advancements in imaging technologies have markedly enhanced our ability to quantify and monitor retinal ...

Emerging Simplified Retinal Imaging

2017
Diabetic retinopathy (DR), a major microvascular complication of diabetes, has a significant impact on the world's health systems. Globally, the number of people with DR will grow from 126.6 million in 2010 to 191.0 million by 2030, and it is estimated that the number with vision-threatening diabetic retinopathy will increase from 37.3 million to 56.3 ...
