Retinal detachment secondary to ocular perforation during retrobulbar anaesthesia.

open access: yesIndian journal of ophthalmology, 1995
The clinical characteristics and the retinal breaks associated with rhegmatogenous retinal detachments secondary to accidental globe perforation during local infiltration anaesthesia in five highly myopic eyes are presented. Retinal detachment was total with variable proliferative vitreoretinopathy.

Gap junctions modulate interkinetic nuclear movement in retinal progenitor cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
During early retinal development, progenitor cells must divide repeatedly to expand the progenitor pool. During G1 and G2 of the cell cycle, progenitor cell nuclei migrate back-and-forth across the proliferative zone in a process termed interkinetic ...

Exudative Retinal Detachment

open access: yes, 2016
Exudative retinal detachment refers to the separation of the neurosensory retina from the underlying retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) as a result of abnormalities of the normal hydrostatic/osmotic pressure gradients or transport mechanisms that maintain ...

Retinal imaging /

open access: yes, 2006
Internationally recognized experts in retina, glaucoma, and imaging techniques provide a complete review of posterior segment imaging. It is brief enough to read as a primer on ophthalmic imaging, yet comprehensive enough to refer to when you encounter ...

Colour normalisation to reduce inter-patient and intra-patient variability in microaneurysm detection in colour retinal images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Images of the human retina vary considerably in their appearance depending on the skin pigmentation (amount of melanin) of the subject. Some form of normalisation of colour in retinal images is required for automated analysis of images if good ...

Retinal vasculature analysis: tuning and optimization for RETCAM images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This work is focused on tuning an algorithm for the automatic detection of the retinal blood vessels. Such optimization and adaptation are aimed to allow the analysis of the vessel network in preterm babies affected by Retinophathy of Prematurity.
