Congenital Retinal telangiectasis

1990
In 1883 Story and Benson [122] observed a peculiar fundus lesion in the right eye of a 20 year old man. They described the lesions as follows: Three bright well-defined cherry-like globular protrusions of one of the walls of the artery running above the macula were observed… a cylindrical dilatation on the trunk of the artery, which so suddenly and ...

Idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis

1990
In 1973 Ehlers and Jensen described what they called central retinal angiopathy in three members of a family. They first examined a 40 year old woman with bilateral visual loss and later found similar fundus lesions in her 66 year old mother and a 38 year old brother, although their visual acuity was normal. Hutton et al. [16] observed in four patients

Retinal Telangiectasis in Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy With Deafness

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1985
A 22-year-old patient with newly diagnosed facioscapulohumeral (FSH) muscular dystrophy had a macular lesion in her right eye and poor central vision, which had been present since early childhood. Fluorescein angiographic examination revealed bilateral peripheral vessel closure, peripheral retinal telangiectasis, and hyperfluorescence in both foveae ...

Retinal Telangiectasis and Proliferation of the Retinal Vessels in a Family

Ophthalmologica, 1993
A 20-year-old woman presented with a marked proliferative retinopathy of the entire central region of the retina in both eyes, with veil-like epiretinal gliovascular membranes and isolated spots of haemorrhaging. The outer region of the retina was unremarkable. Her 49-year-old mother showed perimacular telangiectases in both eyes.

[Peripheral retinal telangiectasis in retinitis pigmentosa].

Journal francais d'ophtalmologie, 1988
The association between retinitis pigmentosa and retinal telangiectasis has been rarely reported. The case of a young woman affected with retinitis pigmentosa and telangiectasis involving bilaterally and symmetrically the inferior retinal periphery is described.

Optical coherence tomography findings in idiopathic juxtafoveal retinal telangiectasis

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 2006
To describe optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings in patients with juxtafoveal retinal telangiectasis (JRT).Fourteen consecutive patients (28 eyes) with JRT (12 patients with JRT type II, one with JRT type I and one with JRT type III) were examined using fluorescein angiography (FA) and OCT.Despite prominent leakage in FA, macular oedema was ...

Idiopathic Juxtafoveolar Retinal Telangiectasis: Clinical Pattern in 19 Cases

Ophthalmologica, 2000
Background: Idiopathic juxtafoveolar telangiectasis (IJT) is a rare retinal vasculopathy of adulthood that may cause central loss of visual acuity. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the type and distribution of fundus changes in patients with this disorder.

SURGICAL REMOVAL OF SUBFOVEAL NEOVASCULARIZATION IDIOPATHIC JUXTAFOVEOLAR RETINAL TELANGIECTASIS

RETINA, 1997
To investigate the efficacy of the surgical removal of subfoveal choroidal neovascularization in patients with type 2A idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis. Two patients with bilateral acquired idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis and a subfoveal choroidal neovascular membrane underwent surgical excision of the membrane using ...

INTEGRATED CLINICAL EVALUATION OF TYPE 2A IDIOPATHIC JUXTAFOVEOLAR RETINAL TELANGIECTASIS

Retina, 2010
To describe spectral high-resolution optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings correlated with fundus autofluorescence (FAF), confocal blue reflectance (CBR), and fluorescein angiography (FA) patterns in patients affected by Type 2A idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis. We reviewed OCT, FA, CBR, and FAF images of both eyes from 11 patients ...
