Novel mutation in PANK2 associated with retinal telangiectasis
British Journal of Ophthalmology, 2010Pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration (PKAN; OMIM 234200) is caused by recessive mutations in PANK2 and is characterised by dystonia, cerebral iron accumulation, pathognomonic ‘eye of the tiger’ MRI finding, and pigmentary retinal degeneration.1 2 Bone spicule formation, retinal vessel attenuation and yellow-white globular deposits seen ...

RETINAL Cases & Brief Reports, 2008
Idiopathic perifoveal telangiectasia (IPT) is a disorder characterized by focal parafoveal capillary dilatation of unknown cause. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) was reported to be efficacious in the treatment of subretinal neovascularization (SRN) associated with idiopathic juxtafoveal retinal telangiectasis.

[Exudative idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis].
Archivos de la Sociedad Espanola de Oftalmologia, 2001To study the different clinical presentation of the idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis and its treatment with argon laser. We studied retrospectively nine eyes of eight patients, seen from 1990 to 1997, with diagnosis of idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis.

Fundus autofluorescence patterns in type 2A idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasis
European Journal of Ophthalmology, 2011Purpose To describe fundus autofluorescence (FAF) patterns in patients with type 2A idiopathic juxtafoveolar retinal telangiectasia (IJRT). Methods We reviewed FAF images, color photographs, and fluorescein angiography (FA) images of 30 eyes from 16 patients with type 2A IJRT.

Intravitreal Bevacizumab for Macular Edema From Idiopathic Juxtafoveal Retinal Telangiectasis
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2007<P>To assess the potential visual benefit of intravitreal bevacizumab in a patient with idiopathic juxtafoveal retinal telangiectasis refractory to focal laser treatment, an intravitreal injection of bevacizumab (1.25 mg) was given. Within 1 week, visual acuity improved from 20/50 to 20/25 and optical coherence tomography demonstrated complete ...

Intermediate and combined forms of retinal telangiectasies
Acta Ophthalmologica Scandinavica, 2007Abstract Purpose: Idiopathic retinal telangiectasis are usually classified as Leber ‐ Coats disease or juxtafoveal telangiectasies. Intermediate and combined forms of these vascular disorders are rare and poorly described and understood. Methods: Clinical presentation of four cases of congenital telangiectasies associated to pigment epithelium ...

This report describes an unusual case of recurrent vitreous hemorrhage and atypical retinal neovascularization in a patient with tuberous sclerosis. During three years of observation, the patient also developed retinal telangiectasis with macular edema and lipid exudation.

Retinal telangiectasis: delayed response to photocoagulation.
Annals of ophthalmology, 1975A case suggestive of early Coats' disease treated cautiously with xenon arc photocoagulation is presented. Although adequate reaction was observed, the abnormal vessels persisted through the initial follow-up period. However, 9 months after treatment the vessels were found to be obliterated.

[Asteroid hyalitis: an uncommon complication of retinal telangiectasis].
Bulletin des societes d'ophtalmologie de France, 1990The authors report a case of asteroid hyalosis which required a vitrectomy because of the decreased vision. The vitrectomy places in a prominent position an epi-macular membrane which has been peeling during the procedure and retinal vascular malformations like "telangiectasies" which are the starting point of other complications.
