Border Noise Removal and Clean Up Based on Retinex Theory
2013Conversion from gray scale or color document image into binary image is the main step in most of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems and document analysis. After digitization, document images often suffer from poor contrast, noise, uniform lighting, and shadow.

Reflectance ratios: An extension of Land's retinex theory
1994Neighboring points on a smoothly curved surface have similar surface orientations and illumination conditions. Therefore, their brightness values can be used to compute the ratio of their reflectance coefficients. We develop an algorithm that estimates a reflectance ratio for each region in an image with respect to its background.

Detections and Applications of Saliency on 3D Surfaces by Using Retinex Theory
2014Unlike traditional 2D images, which are projections of the real world onto a two-dimensional surface, 3D images express the geometry of the objects of interest directly in terms of a set of points, a mesh, or a surface composed of points with three-dimensional coordinates.
