Optimized Deep Learning Framework for Diabetic Retinopathy Based on Systematic Multi‐Stage Transfer Learning and Predictive Risk Stratification

open access: yesApplied AI Letters, Volume 7, Issue 2, June 2026.
A multi‐stage transfer learning framework systematically optimizes CNN architectures for diabetic retinopathy detection and risk stratification from fundus images. EfficientNetB7 achieves 96% accuracy while a survival‐inspired model generates continuous risk scores aligned with DR severity for clinically meaningful patient risk assessment.

SIRT1: Protean roles at the nexus of health, disease, and therapeutics

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 2, June 2026.
SIRT1 serves as a central regulator linking metabolism, stress responses, and disease. It influences diverse processes, including transcriptional and posttranscriptional gene expression and protein activity, inflammation, mitochondrial function, and cell survival, through the deacetylation of multiple protein targets. While SIRT1 often plays protective

Strategic Reform for the Non‐Communicable Disease Crisis in Bangladesh: A Narrative Review of Policy Drivers and Systemic Solutions

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Bangladesh is experiencing a critical epidemiological shift, with non‐communicable diseases (NCDs) now accounting for nearly 67% of all deaths nationwide. These diseases, including cardiovascular conditions and diabetes, driven by unregulated urban growth, poor dietary habits, and sedentary lifestyles, pose a major threat ...
