Forwarding by retransmission in IEEE 802.11 [PDF]
This paper presents a cooperation-based retransmission mechanism for IEEE 802.11 networks called Forwarding By Retransmission (FBR). This mechanism aims at reducing the mean number of retransmissions in an infrastructure network, or it can be used to forward frames in a small ad hoc network.

Analysis of NOMA-Based Retransmission Schemes for Factory Automation Applications
New use cases and applications in factory automation scenarios impose demanding requirements for traditional industrial communications. In particular, latency and reliability are considered as some of the most representative Key Performance Indicators ...

Convergecast is the transmission paradigm used by data gathering applications in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). For efficiency reasons, a collision-free slotted medium access is typically used: time slots are assigned to non-conflicting transmitters ...

Stop criteria for retransmission termination in soft-combining algorithms
Soft-combining algorithms use retransmissions of the same codeword to improve the reliability of communication over very noisy channels. In this paper, soft-outputs from a maximum a posteriori (MAP) decoder are used as a priori information for decoding ...

Retransmission DBTMA Protocol With Fast Retransmission Strategy to Improve the Performance of MANETs [PDF]
The Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) are often visible to the exposed terminal problem and hidden terminal problem, which exist due to non-transitivity in media access control schemes. This affects the utilization of channel and throughput in media access control protocols, e.g., dual busy tone multiple access protocol (DBTMA).

Delay QoS and MAC Aware Energy-Efficient Data-Aggregation Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks
By eliminating redundant data flows, data aggregation capabilities in wireless sensor networks could transmit less data to reduce the total energy consumption. However, additional data collisions incur extra data retransmissions.

On the existence of retransmission permutation arrays
We investigate retransmission permutation arrays (RPAs) that are motivated by applications in overlapping channel transmissions. An RPA is an $n\times n$ array in which each row is a permutation of ${1, ..., n}$, and for $1\leq i\leq n$, all $n$ symbols occur in each $i\times\lceil\frac{n}{i}\rceil$ rectangle in specified corners of the array.
