Designing retrodirective reflector on a planar surface by transformation optics [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2013
In this paper, we present the design of a retrodirective reflector with dielectric cover on a planar conducting plane based on the transformation optics. By employing a simple linear coordinate transformation, the retrodirective reflector can be achieved

Analysis of the retrodirective mechanism of a flattened dihedral [PDF]

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2018
An explicit analysis of the retrodirective mechanism of a flattened dihedral using periodic arrays is proposed. Once flattened, a corner dihedral requires a phasing mechanism to restore its retrodirective behaviour. This can be achieved by equipping each of the panels with passive phase‐shifting cells that obey a global retrodirective phase law.

A Tri‐Functional Active Reconfigurable Retrodirective Array

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents a broadband active reconfigurable retrodirective array system operating from 6.4 to 11.2 GHz, which integrates a filtering magneto‐electric dipole antenna with inherent out‐of‐band suppression and a function‐switching network to support three modes: absorption, active retrodirective array and active phased array.

Design and implementation of a self-correcting non-retrodirective cross-eye jamming system using reference amplitude ratio and phase difference [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study presents a self-correction method for a non-retrodirective cross-eye jamming (NRCJ) system based on the measurement of reference amplitude ratio and phase difference (ARPD).

A 2-D Fully Polarized Van Atta Array Based on Wide-Beam Tri-Polarized Antennas [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines
This paper proposes a 2-D fully polarized Van Atta array, which consists of four tri-polarized antenna elements. The tri-polarized antenna element comprises a monopole antenna and a low-profile microstrip antenna that widens the beam by folding four ...

Experimental Simulation of Retrodirective Cross-Eye Jamming [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2011
Experimental measurements that accurately simulate the effect of a retrodirective cross-eye jammer on a monopulse radar are described. The accuracy of a recently published extended analysis of retrodirective cross-eye jamming and the limitations of the conventional phase-front analysis of cross-eye jamming are illustrated by the experiments.

Multiangle retrodirective cascaded metasurface [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2019
In this paper, a cascaded retrodirective metasurface is designed and demonstrated to operate simultaneously at a wide range of incident angles from −30° to −10° and 10° to 30°. It is based on the design of several retrodirective super-cells following the generalized Snell’s law of reflection, where each super-cell is designed to redirect an incoming ...

Performance Aspects of Retrodirective RFID Tags

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
Although RFID(radio frequency identification) tags do not require a direct line of sight, their operational range is often characterized as being limited.

Improvement of RF Wireless Power Transmission Using a Circularly Polarized Retrodirective Antenna Array with EBG Structures

open access: yesApplied Sciences (Switzerland), 2018
This paper presents the performance improvement of a circularly polarized (CP) retrodirective array (RDA) through the suppression of mutual coupling effects. The RDA is designed based on CP Koch-shaped patch antenna elements with an inter-element spacing

Co‐operating retrodirective system

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2013
Practical demonstration of the operational advantages gained through the use of a co‐operating retrodirective array (RDA) basestation and Van Atta node arrangements is discussed. The system exploits a number of inherent RDA features to provide analogue real time multifunctional operation at low physical complexity.
