Summary The subject of retroperitoneal and mesenteric tumors has been discussed. Both have common derivation in the extracoelomic mesenchyme. Lacking a satisfactory grouping encompassing all these tumors, a suggested classification is proposed. Tivelve cases front our records (an incidence of 1:1,093) are tabulated.
