Concepts of lightning return stroke models
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2000Return stroke models have been reviewed according to the assumptions they make and their underlying concepts. We have investigated the roots of the modern concepts used to describe return stroke related phenomena and illustrated their developments and deviations from the original idea. We discuss the return stroke models in two categories in accordance

Lightning return stroke models
Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1980We test the two most commonly used lightning return stroke models, BruceāGolde and transmission line, against subsequent stroke electric and magnetic field wave forms measured simultaneously at near and distant stations and show that these models are inadequate to describe the experimental data.

An identification procedure for lightning return strokes
Journal of Electrostatics, 2001Abstract In this paper an inverse procedure for the identification and the reconstruction of the waveform of the lightning return stroke current is presented. It is based on the acquisition of the vertical component of the electric field radiated by the discharge channel at different locations on the ground and it does not require any information ...
