Loss of Hepatic Angiotensinogen Attenuates Diastolic Dysfunction in Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Increased hepatic angiotensinogen (AGT) abundance leads to cardiac diastolic dysfunction via the AngII‐independent pathway. Liver‐derived AGT is internalized by LRP2 in cardiac endothelial cells, subsequently contributing to myocardial diastolic dysfunction by suppressing microvascular angiogenesis via inhibiting the GATA2/Pim3 pathway.

Tratamento farmacológico do transtorno obsessivo-compulsivo

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Psychiatry, 2001
The pharmacotherapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) has started with clomipramine, a potent non-selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Newer drugs that selectively inhibit serotonin reuptake (SSRIs) such as fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, paroxetine ...

Clinically Inspired Multimodal Treatment Using Induced Neural Stem Cells‐Derived Exosomes Promotes Recovery of Traumatic Brain Injury through Microglial Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the therapeutic potential of iNSC‐Exo via local and systemic delivery in TBI mice. It is found that iNSC‐Exo enhances NRXN signaling through Microglia_Nrg3 and Microglia_Rarb, effectively promoting functional and neurological recovery, suggesting a new therapeutic strategy for TBI. Abstract Traumatic brain injury (TBI) poses serious

Maternal fluoxetine exposure alters cortical hemodynamic and calcium response of offspring to somatosensory stimuli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Epidemiological studies have found an increased incidence of neurodevelopmental disorders in populations prenatally exposed to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

ER localized bestrophin1 activates Ca2+ dependent ion channels TMEM16A and SK4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Bestrophins form Ca2+ activated Cl- channels and regulate intercellular Ca2+ signaling1. We demonstrate that bestrophin 1 is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), where it physically interacts with stromal interacting molecule 1 (Stim1), the ER ...

Synaptic Dysfunction in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex Underlies Pain‐Anxiety Comorbidity in a Mandibular Asymmetry Mouse Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes a mandibular asymmetry (MA) mouse model that recapitulates chronic orofacial pain and anxiety comorbidity. Anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) hyperactivation and synaptic dysfunction are identified as central neural mechanisms underlying these pathologies, with chemogenetic inhibition of ACC CaMKII+ neurons effectively reversing ...

Decreased RYR2 Cluster Size and Abnormal SR Ca2+ Release Contribute to Arrhythmogenesis in TMEM43‐Related ARVC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The TMEM43 ‐ P386S mutation causes arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) by mislocalizing itself from nuclear envelope (NE) to cytoplasm, disrupting lamin B2 (a novel TMEM43 interactor) localization, NE integrity and chromatin accessibility, causing hyper ‐ phosphorylation and reduced expression/clustering of ryanodine receptor type 2 (

Methylphenidate, but not citalopram, decreases impulsive choice in rats performing a temporal discounting task

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry
IntroductionDrugs targeting monoamine systems remain the most common treatment for disorders with impulse control impairments. There is a body of literature suggesting that drugs affecting serotonin reuptake and dopamine reuptake can modulate distinct ...

Use of antidepressants near delivery and risk of postpartum hemorrhage: cohort study of low income women in the United States [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Objective: To determine whether use of serotonin or non-serotonin reuptake inhibitors near to delivery is associated with postpartum hemorrhage. Design Cohort study. Setting 2000-07 nationwide Medicaid data (Medicaid Analytic eXtract). Population 106 000
