Fast processing models effects of reflections on binaural unmasking
Sound reflections and late reverberation alter energetic and binaural cues of a target source, thereby affecting its detection in noise. Two experiments investigated detection of harmonic complex tones, centered around 500 Hz, in noise, in a virtual room

Room Reverberation Prediction and Synthesis
In this dissertation, the discussion is centered around the sound energy decay in enclosed spaces. The works starts with the methods to predict the reverberation parameters, followed by the room impulse response measurement procedures, and ends with an ...

Roomprints for forensic audio applications [PDF]
09.12.13 KB. Ok to add accepted version to spiral, IEEE.A roomprint is a quantifiable description of an acoustic environment which can be measured under controlled conditions and estimated from a monophonic recording made in that space.

Reverberation suppression algorithm for LS beamforming based on Wiener post-filter
Reverberation causes speech signal time and frequency to blur, and speech is difficult to understand when serious. In order to improve the speech quality, this paper presents a least squares beamforming reverberation suppression algorithm with Wiener ...

Augmenting Environmental Interaction in Audio Feedback Systems
Audio feedback is defined as a positive feedback of acoustic signals where an audio input and output form a loop, and may be utilized artistically. This article presents new context-based controls over audio feedback, leading to the generation of desired

Determination of the Reverberation Time Using the Measurement of Sound Decay Curves
In the measurements of reverberation time, measurement methods of different accuracy are used depending on the room. For ordinary rooms, the measurements are made using the interrupted noise method, which consists of determining the decay curve after ...

ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Reverberation is the main background interference in active sonar and seriously interferes with the extraction of the target echo. Active sonar systems can use short-pulse continuous wave (CW) signals to reduce the reverberation intensity.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
