Wireless Data Logger Instrument for Indoor Acoustic Quality Measurement Based on Noise Background, Sound Distribution and Reverberation Time

open access: yesJIF (Jurnal Ilmu Fisika), 2022
A wireless data logger system measuring indoor acoustic quality was developed using a NodeMCU ESP8266 and microphone sensor KY-037. The acoustic quality is based on parameters of sound pressure level and reverberation time.

A validated finite element model for room acoustic treatments with edge absorbers

open access: yesActa Acustica, 2023
Porous acoustic absorbers have excellent properties in the low-frequency range when positioned in room edges, therefore they are a common method for reducing low-frequency reverberation.

The Role of Reverberation and Magnitude Spectra of Direct Parts in Contralateral and Ipsilateral Ear Signals on Perceived Externalization

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Several studies show that the reverberation and spectral details in direct sounds are two essential cues for perceived externalization of virtual sound sources in reverberant environments.

Acoustic modeling using the digital waveguide mesh [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The digital waveguide mesh has been an active area of music acoustics research for over ten years. Although founded in 1-D digital waveguide modeling, the principles on which it is based are not new to researchers grounded in numerical simulation, FDTD ...

Constrained least-squares and maximum-likelihood calibration of absorption coefficients in reverberation time equations

open access: yesActa Acustica
Calibration of material properties in room acoustics simulations is essential to producing realistic results. However, the number of available algorithms for calibrating room acoustics models remain limited. This work presents two methods for calibrating

Child-Centred Room Acoustic Parameters of Public Preschools in Sweden

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
Preschool should promote children’s well-being and development, but the indoor sound environment is commonly problematic. The aim of our research project Supportive Preschool ACoustic Environment (SPACE) is to identify acoustic quality factors resulting ...

Reverberation times and reverberation levels

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2015
Reverberation times and reverberation levels are the statistical parameters of the stochastical sound field in a room. Their theoretically derived and practically measured properties are discussed.

The effect of modal localization on reverberant energy decay in a case of two acoustically coupled rooms

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2014
In the paper a modal analysis was used to describe a reverberation phenomenon in an irregularly shaped room. A theoretical model was limited to low sound frequencies, when eigenmodes are lightly damped, thus they may be approximated by normal acoustic ...

Making it Sound as Good as it Tastes: Noise Reverberation Reduction in a Micro Distillery Tasting Room [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Noise reverberation in micro distillery tasting rooms can interfere with speech communication and negatively impact the acoustic quality of live music.
