Mitochondrial Diversity and the Reversal Test

The American Journal of Bioethics, 2015
In “Imposing Genetic Diversity,” Robert Sparrow (2015) offers a means to assess the value of genetic diversity.

FREQUENCY-DOMAIN TEST OF TIME REVERSIBILITY [PDF]

open access: possibleMacroeconomic Dynamics, 1998
We introduce a frequency-domain test of time reversibility, the REVERSE test. It is based on the bispectrum. We analytically establish the asymptotic distribution of the test and also explore its finite-sample properties through Monte-Carlo simulation.

A Test of Amino Acid Reversibility

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 2001
In studies of molecular evolution, the assumption that protein evolution is reversible has often been made, but rarely tested. Here we use a large set of orthologous murid protein coding sequences to perform a simple test of reversibility, and find no evidence to reject the assumption of reversibility in protein evolution.

Cumulative achievement testing: Progress testing in reverse

Medical Teacher, 2010
This collaborative project between the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine explored the design and use of cumulative achievement tests in basic science education. In cumulative achievement testing, integrative end-of-unit tests are deliberately constructed to systematically retest ...

Reverse Stress Testing

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2020
This article outlines a framework for the analysis of extreme events based on forward-looking reverse stress testing. We perform a portfolio simulation and identify stress scenarios critical to the bank’s solvency. Stress scenarios are determined based on their contribution to the capital cost, as expressed by KVA scenario differentials.

On the Fault Testing for Reversible Circuits

2007
This paper shows that it is NP-hard to generate a minimum complete test set for stuck-at faults on the wires of a reversible circuit. We also show non-trivial lower bounds for the size of a minimum complete test set.

Time-Reversibility of Schedulability Tests

2014 IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium, 2014
For timing guarantees of a set of real-time tasks under a target scheduling algorithm, a number of schedulability tests have been studied. However, there still exist many task sets that are potentially schedulable by a target scheduling algorithm, but proven schedulable by none of existing schedulability tests, especially on a multiprocessor platform ...

Testing Explanations of Preference Reversal: A Model [PDF]

open access: possibleSSRN Electronic Journal, 2005
When Cubitt, Munro and Starmer (2004) presented their new experimental investigation of preference reversal, they pointed out that their test results cannot be explained by any of the best-known explanations proposed by economists and psychologists. In this paper we propose a model based on lotteries qualities to explain these new test results.
