Enhancing Brand Equity Through Sustainability: Waste Recycling [PDF]
Unlike many existing research studies that explain reverse marketing from a purchasing perspective, this study recognizes it as an honest effort made by managers aiming to promote sustainability by purposefully managing waste and discusses the spillover ...

Kinetin Reversal of NaCl Effects [PDF]
Leaf discs of Nicotiana rustica L. were floated on NaCl in the presence of kinetin or abscisic acid. On the 5th day (14)CO(2) fixation, [(3)H]leucine incorporation, stomatal conductance, and chlorophyll content were determined. Kinetin either partially or completely reversed the inhibitory effects of NaCl while ABA had no effect.

Is the Small Size of a Breast Cancer Tumor the Crucial Point for Successful Medical Treatment?
The presented case displays a clinical study of a cancer phenotype with a poor clinical outcome. Prediction of cancer development and effects of treatment at the beginning of the clinical stage is difficult as the knowledge of cancer process and all ...

Visualization of the disordered structure of Fe-Ni Invar alloys by reverse monte carlo calculations
Reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) calculation was performed to visualize the atomic arrangement in a disordered Fe55Ni45 alloy, which is classified as an intermediate structure between the non-crystalline glass and crystalline structures. The optimized structure

Thermosensory reversal effect quantified
At room temperature, some materials feel colder than others due to differences in thermal conductivity, heat capacity and geometry. When the ambient temperature is well above skin temperature, the roles of 'cold' and 'warm' materials are reversed. In this paper, this effect is quantified by measuring discrimination thresholds for subjective coldness at

Fast tuneable InGaAsP DBR laser using quantum-confined stark-effect-induced refractive index change [PDF]
We report a monolithically integrated InGaAsP DBR ridge waveguide laser that uses the quantum-confined Stark effect (QCSE) to achieve fast tuning response.

The Reverse Stein Effect is identified and illustrated: A statistician who shrinks his/her data toward a point chosen without reliable knowledge about the underlying value of the parameter to be estimated but based instead upon the observed data will not be protected by the minimax property of shrinkage estimators such as that of James and Stein, but ...

From the volcano effect to banding: a minimal model for bacterial behavioral transitions near chemoattractant sources [PDF]
Sharp chemoattractant (CA) gradient variations near food sources may give rise to dramatic behavioral changes of bacteria neighboring these sources. For instance, marine bacteria exhibiting run-reverse motility are known to form distinct bands around ...

Room-Temperature Reversible Spin Hall Effect [PDF]
Reversible spin Hall effect comprising the "direct" and "inverse" spin Hall effects was successfully detected at room temperature. This experimental demonstration proves the fundamental relations called Onsager reciprocal relations between spin and charge currents.
