Experimental investigation of ethanol separation by reverse osmosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
L obiettivo di questa tesi è stato di testare la fase di rigenerazione del processo MOD utilizzando una draw solution di acqua ed etanolo, determinando sperimentalmente l efficienza della rigenerazione tramite osmosi inversa.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Correlations between silt density index, turbidity and oxidation-reduction potential parameters in seawater reverse osmosis desalination

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2019
The reverse osmosis method is one of the most widely used methods of seawater desalination at present. Hydrophilic and desalting membranes in reverse osmosis systems are highly susceptible to the input pollutants.

COMBINATION OF REVERSE OSMOSIS AND ELECTRODEIONIZATION FOR SIMULTANEOUS SUGAR RECOVERY AND SALTS REMOVAL FROM SUGARY WASTEWATER [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An integrated membrane system combining reverse osmosis (RO) and electrodeionization (EDI) is used for simultaneous sugar concentration and salts removal from a synthetic dilute sugar solution as a model of sugar-containing wastewater. The RO system uses

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Energy, Exergy, Economic, and Environmental Analysis of the Reverse Osmosis Desalination System Using Photovoltaic Panels and Water Turbine, With the Approach of Design of Experiments

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
The provision of drinking water as one of the basic human needs is of great importance now. Today, many people in different parts of the world, especially in remote and rural areas, do not have access to fresh water.

Modeling solar desalination with reverse osmosis (RO) powered by concentrating solar power (CSP) plan

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energetica, 2020
This article deals with the desalination of seawater and brackish water, which can deal with the problem of water scarcity that threatens certain countries in the world; it is now possible to meet the demand for drinking water.

Sustainability of membrane separation technology on groundwater reverse osmosis process

open access: yesCleaner Engineering and Technology, 2022
Globally increasing in water demand causes critical valuation of water reuse. Freshwater demand in the various sectors is mostly fulfilled from ground and surface water.

Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...
