The Extended Codes of a Family of Reversible MDS Cyclic codes

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory
A linear code with parameters $[n, k, n-k+1]$ is called a maximum distance separable (MDS for short) code. A linear code with parameters $[n, k, n-k]$ is said to be almost maximum distance separable (AMDS for short). A linear code is said to be near maximum distance separable (NMDS for short) if both the code and its dual are AMDS.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Nonorthogonal group encryption code index modulation scheme based on reversible cellular automata

open access: yesTongxin xuebao
To meet the high-rate communication and strong security communication requirements of 6G networks, a nonorthogonal grouping encryption code index modulation (NGECIM) scheme based on reversible cellular automata for code index modulation technology was ...

Hospital Readmission After Traumatic Brain Injury Hospitalization in Community‐Dwelling Older Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the risk of hospital readmission after an index hospitalization for TBI in older adults. Methods Using data from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study, we used propensity score matching of individuals with an index TBI‐related hospitalization to individuals with (1) non‐TBI hospitalizations (primary analysis)

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Applying an Ethical Lens to the Treatment of People With Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The practice of neurology requires an understanding of clinical ethics for decision‐making. In multiple sclerosis (MS) care, there are a wide range of ethical considerations that may arise. These involve shared decision‐making around selection of a disease‐modifying therapy (DMT), risks and benefits of well‐studied medications in comparison to

Dynamic coding and sequential integration of multiple reward attributes by primate amygdala neurons

open access: yesNature Communications
The value of visual stimuli guides learning, decision-making, and motivation. Although stimulus values often depend on multiple attributes, how neurons extract and integrate distinct value components from separate cues remains unclear.

Reverse engineering source code

open access: yes, 2017
The goal of software renovation is to modernize software. One way to achieve this is to first reverse engineer the essential concepts and abstractions used in the software from source code and then use these during renovation. Scaling reverse engineering to large software systems requires automated analysis.

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...
