Let R be a ring, (M, ≤) a strictly ordered monoid and ω : M → <em>End</em>(R) a monoid homomorphism. The skew generalized power series ring R[[M; ω]] is a compact generalization of (skew) polynomial rings, (skew) power series rings, (skew ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Reversible Polymer-Chain Modification: Ring-Opening and Closing of Polylactone
A reversible polymer modification involving structural changes of the polymer chains was accomplished for the copolymer of CO2 and butadiene. The bicyclic structures were opened by hydrolysis and aminolysis reactions of the lactone moiety.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A KIND OF GRAPH STRUCTURE ASSOCIATED WITH ZERO-DIVISORS OF MONOID RINGS [PDF]
Let $R$ be an associative ring and $M$ be a monoid. In this paper, we introduce new kind of graph structure asociated with zero-divisors of monoid ring $R[M]$, calling it the $M$-Armendariz graph of a ring $R$ and denoted by $A(R,M)$.

RINGS OVER WHICH POLYNOMIAL RINGS ARE ARMENDARIZ AND REVERSIBLE
Summary: A ring \(R\) is called \textit{reversibly Armendariz} if \(b_j a_i = 0\) for all \(i,j\) whenever \(f(x)g(x) = 0\) for two polynomials \(f(x) = \sum_{i=0}^m {a_i x_i}\), \(g(x) = \sum_{j=0}^n {b_j x_j}\) over \(R\). It is proved that a ring \(R\) is reversibly Armendariz if and only if its polynomial ring is reversibly Armendariz if and only ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Evidence for reversible ring-opening of the \u3b1-cyclopropylbenzyl radical
Kinetic absorption spectroscopy, EPR, and tributylstannane product data indicate that the \u3b1-cyclopropylbenzyl radical (1a) undergoes reversible ring-opening to the 4-phenylbut-3-enyl radical (2a) and that equilibrium favours the ring-closed form, (1a)

Group LCD and group reversible LCD codes [PDF]
In this paper, we give a new method for constructing LCD codes. We employ group rings and a well known map that sends group ring elements to a subring of the n × n
