Recent trends in revision knee arthroplasty in Germany
We aimed to answer the following questions: (1) How did numbers of revision knee arthroplasty procedures develop in Germany over the last decade compared to primary TKA? (2) How high was the percentage of septic interventions in knee prosthesis revisions?

Abstract Purpose To compare medial posterior tibial slope (mPTS) measurements on abduction/adduction malpositioned versus properly positioned lateral knee radiographs within the same patients. We hypothesized that malpositioning would significantly alter mPTS values and potentially change surgical classification at the commonly used 12° threshold for ...

Purpose Approximately 50% of knee osteoarthritis patients are eligible for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA), but only 10%–15% of knee replacements are UKAs. Higher UKA revision rates may prevent broader implementation.

Abstract Purpose A single hip–knee–ankle angle (HKA) angle does not reflect the biomechanics of native, arthritic or prosthetic knees. Since HKA varies throughout flexion, dynamic coronal alignment is best represented by a kinematic curve plotting HKA against the range of motion.

Abstract Purpose Previous knee surgery is discussed as a risk factor for total knee arthroplasty (TKA), yet most reports do not distinguish between osteotomy and osteosynthesis. The German Operationen‐ und Prozedurenschlüssel (OPS)‐based classification was used to compare the impact of these procedures on implant survival, mortality and complications ...

Our results of revision total knee arthroplasty
From 1987 to 1997, thirty-one revision total knee arthhroplasties (TKA) performed in 30 patients with failed primary TKA were studied to determine the short-term clinical and roentgenographic results. There were 29 females and 1 male. The mean age was 65.
