Rewriting and Multisets in the Rewriting Calculus and ELAN

open access: yes, 2000
The rewriting calculus is a new calculus that integrates in a uniform and simple setting first-order rewriting, lambda-calculus and non-deterministic computations. The main design concept of the rewriting calculus is to make all the basic ingredients of rewriting explicit objects, in particular the notions of rule application and multisets of results ...

The rs10191329 Risk Allele Is Associated With Pronounced Retinal Layer Atrophy in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate whether the rs10191329 risk allele in the DYSF–ZNF638 locus, which is implicated in central nervous system resilience rather than immune‐mediated pathology, is associated with retinal layer thinning, a biomarker of neuroaxonal damage in relapsing multiple sclerosis (RMS). Methods From a prospective observational study,

Rewriting the check of 8-rewritability for $A_5$

open access: yes, 2010
The group $G$ is called $n$-rewritable for $n>1$, if for each sequence of $n$ elements $x_1, x_2, \dots, x_n \in G$ there exists a non-identity permutation $ \in S_n$ such that $x_1 x_2 \cdots x_n = x_{ (1)} x_{ (2)} \cdots x_{ (n)}$. Using computers, Blyth and Robinson (1990) verified that the alternating group $A_5$ is 8-rewritable.
