Data-driven Reynolds stress models based on the frozen treatment of Reynolds stress tensor and Reynolds force vector

Physics of Fluids, 2023
For developing a reliable data-driven Reynold stress tensor (RST) model, successful reconstruction of the mean velocity field based on high-fidelity information (i.e., direct numerical simulations or large-eddy simulations) is crucial and challenging, considering the ill-conditioning problem of Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) equations.

Reynolds-Stress Model for Eulerian multiphase

Progress in Computational Fluid Dynamics, An International Journal, 2006
Summary: This paper presents a way of modelling turbulence in multiphase flows within the context of the Reynolds-Stress Model. The model has been implemented in the general-purpose unstructured finite volume code Fluent V6. Two multiphase turbulence approaches were considered: mixture and dispersed models.

Realizable algebraic Reynolds stress closure

Chemical Engineering Science, 2009
Abstract The normalized Reynolds (NR-) stress is a symmetric, non-negative, dyadic-valued operator. An analysis of the hydrodynamic equation governing velocity fluctuations of a constant property Newtonian fluid shows that this operator is related to a prestress operator that is also symmetric and non-negative.

Reynolds stresses – dependence on latitude

Astronomische Nachrichten, 2005
AbstractWe present some results of three‐dimensional hydrodynamic simulations of a compressible flow under the influence of rotation. The code implements a three‐layer (stably–unstably–stably stratified) rectangular box placed at various latitudes in a convection zone of a star.

Reynolds stresses under wind waves

Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1987
This paper describes a series of wave measurements, taken from an oceanographic tower, concerning water particle kinematics. Attention is focused on the phase relationship between surface elevation and the velocity components. Large phase shifts with respect to the expected values are found under active wave conditions, while swell behavior closely ...
