Patellar Tendon Repair With Gracilis Autograft Augmentation and Anchor Fixation

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Patellar tendon rupture is a severe injury that disrupts knee extensor continuity and requires prompt surgical management. Although primary repair remains the standard treatment, isolated suture repair may be insufficient in cases of poor tissue quality or high mechanical demand, making augmentation necessary.

Flow resistance parameterization for large wood in two‐dimensional depth‐averaged models: Effects of flow condition, blockage, and sediment

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 8, August 2026.
Using 16 flume experiments and 2D modeling, we show that large‐wood flow resistance is not a fixed property of wood porosity but varies systematically with flow condition, blockage and most strongly sediment‐shaped bed topography. The drag coefficient and Manning's n are interchangeable, but calibration is essential where scour occurs.

Association between relative fat mass and sterility in women of reproductive age in the United States: results from the 2013–2018 NHANES

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
BackgroundA major problem that affects women of reproductive age globally is sterility. A new statistic called Relative Fat Mass (RFM) provides an accurate representation of the percentage of total body fat in people.

Influence of Fat Content and Bioprotective Cultures on the Survival of Foodborne Pathogens in Beef Meatballs

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Influence of Fat Content and Bioprotective Cultures on the Survival of Foodborne Pathogens in Beef Meatballs During Refrigerated Storage: Low‐fat and regular‐fat meatballs were prepared with or without bioprotective cultures and inoculated with Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, and Escherichia coli O157:H7.

Reduced fetal movements and COVID-19 infection: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth
Background Fetal movements are an important indicator of fetal well-being; therefore, reduced fetal movements (RFMs) can indicate fetal compromise. RFM is associated with fetal growth restriction (FGR) and intrauterine fetal death (IUFD).

Association between relative fat mass and risk of arthritis: a study based on populations in China and the United States

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
This study examined the association between relative fat mass (RFM) and the prevalence of arthritis in two distinct populations: one from China and the other from the United States.

Objective Cervical Stiffness Assessment Using the Pregnolia System Prior to Induction of Labour: The CASPAR Feasibility Cohort Study

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, Volume 133, Issue 9, Page 1762-1770, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine if the Pregnolia System (PS) for cervical stiffness (CS) assessment is feasible for an induction of labour (IOL) cohort and to inform definitive study design for IOL outcome prediction. Design Single‐centre, prospective, observational, feasibility study.

On dense subrings of RFM(R)

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1987
This paper concerns subrings T of the endomorphism ring of a countable rank free R-module which contain all finite rank endomorphisms, where R is an arbitrary unital ring. The author characterizes those rings R for which there exists such a T having an automorphism which does not preserve finite rank endomorphisms. He also shows that every functor F on

A Comprehensive Evaluation of Adiposity Indices on 20‐Year Cumulative Incidence of Type 2 Diabetes: The ATTICA Cohort Study (2002–2022)

open access: yesClinical Obesity, Volume 16, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between indices of adiposity and 20‐year cumulative incidence of type 2 diabetes (T2D) among apparently healthy adults participating in the ATTICA cohort study (2002–2022). The present analysis included data from 2000 individuals free of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and ...

Lysine Biosynthesis Defines a Metabolic Checkpoint for Gibberellin‐Mediated Growth in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 8, Page 5343-5357, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Lysine represents a metabolic hub linking mitochondrial energy status with amino acid catabolism, yet its role in coordinating plant growth and development remains poorly characterised. The dapat mutant, which is deficient in L,L‐diaminopimelate aminotransferase (DAPAT), exhibits severe growth inhibition associated with broad metabolic ...
