The atomic decomposition of harmonic functions satisfying certain conditions of integrability

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 18, Issue 4, Page 625-640, 1995., 1993
Distributions on Euclidean spaces with derivatives of their Poisson integral satisfying certain natural conditions of integrability are represented as sums of weighted atoms. The atomic decomposition is obtained by means of the Calderón reproducing formula.

On Coding for Cooperative Data Exchange [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We consider the problem of data exchange by a group of closely-located wireless nodes. In this problem each node holds a set of packets and needs to obtain all the packets held by other nodes. Each of the nodes can broadcast the packets in its possession

Optimality of the Maximum Likelihood estimator in Astrometry

open access: yes, 2018
The problem of astrometry is revisited from the perspective of analyzing the attainability of well-known performance limits (the Cramer-Rao bound) for the estimation of the relative position of light-emitting (usually point-like) sources on a CCD-like ...

Noise‐Adaptive SOGI–HOSM Observer for Sensorless Speed Control of Induction Machines

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This study addresses the limitations of traditional sliding‐mode observers in sensorless induction motor control under complex, non‐Gaussian noise profiles. Existing methods often assume white Gaussian noise, which fails to represent real‐world disturbances such as colored noise (e.g., pink or brown), heavy‐tailed distributions (e.g., Laplacian), and ...

Design of coherent quantum observers for linear quantum systems

open access: yes, 2014
Quantum versions of control problems are often more difficult than their classical counterparts because of the additional constraints imposed by quantum dynamics.

Spin‐s$s$ Dicke States and Their Preparation

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2024.
Dicke states are completely symmetric multi‐qubit states, which have many applications in quantum information and quantum computing. This work introduces higher‐spin generalizations of Dicke states, and formulates an efficient quantum circuit for preparing them on a quantum computer. The complete circuit diagram for the spin‐1 Dicke state |D2,2(1)⟩=16(|

Compressive Spectral Clustering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Spectral clustering has become a popular technique due to its high performance in many contexts. It comprises three main steps: create a similarity graph between N objects to cluster, compute the first k eigenvectors of its Laplacian matrix to define a ...

Choosing a penalty for model selection in heteroscedastic regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We consider the problem of choosing between several models in least-squares regression with heteroscedastic data. We prove that any penalization procedure is suboptimal when the penalty is a function of the dimension of the model, at least for some ...

Simulating the weak death of the neutron in a femtoscale universe with near-Exascale computing

open access: yes, 2018
The fundamental particle theory called Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) dictates everything about protons and neutrons, from their intrinsic properties to interactions that bind them into atomic nuclei.
