Background The genes of the non-phosphorylative L-rhamnose catabolic pathway have been identified for several yeast species. In Schefferomyces stipitis, all L-rhamnose pathway genes are organized in a cluster, which is conserved in Aspergillus niger ...

Engineered Optogenetic Circuits In Yeast with Self‐Sustained Outputs
Optogenetic quorum‐sensing (OptoQS) circuit enables Saccharomyces cerevisiae to record transient light stimulus with self‐sustained outputs. Panel a indicates the design of the OptoQS circuit based on G‐protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling cascade. Panel b indicates the mode of action of surrogate messenger‐mediated signal transmission at the cell

We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Previously, several genes, including LRA1–LRA4 and LRAR, involved in rhamnose utilization pathway, were discovered in Pichia pastoris GS115; among them, LRA3 and LRA4 were considered as key rate-determining step enzymes. A P. pastoris expression platform

A fully synthetic four‐component vaccine has been developed combining Tn antigen, vizantin (Mincle agonist), rhamnose (antibody recruitment), and mannose (CD206 targeting). By synergistically activating Mincle, FcγR, and CD206 pathways, it elicits strong IgG switching and cytotoxic T‐cells, significantly inhibiting tumors in mice.

SummaryThe halophilic archaeon Haloferax volcanii utilizes l‐rhamnose as a sole carbon and energy source. It is shown that l‐rhamnose is taken up by an ABC transporter and is oxidatively degraded to pyruvate and l‐lactate via the diketo‐hydrolase pathway.

L-rhamnose is often an important part of immunodominant epitope for pneumococcal serotype 23F polysaccharide antibodies in human sera immunized with PPV23. [PDF]
Streptococcus pneumoniae is a major human pathogen which expresses more than 90 serologically distinct capsular polysaccharides (PS) on the surface. Since pneumococcal PSs elicit protective antibodies against pneumococcal diseases, it is important to ...
