Egg yolk IgY against RHDV capsid protein VP60 promotes rabbit defense against RHDV infection

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 2014
VP60 capsid protein is the major structural and immunogenicity protein of RHDV (Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus, RHDV), and has been implicated as a main protein antigen in RHDV diagnosis and vaccine design. In this report, egg yolk antibody (IgY) against N-terminal of VP60 was evaluated and developed as a new strategy for RHDV therapy.

Spread of new variant RHDV in domestic rabbits on the Iberian Peninsula

Veterinary Microbiology, 2014
Rabbit hemorrhagic disease outbreaks in young rabbits have been recently observed in Spain. In this study we have tracked the spread of variant RHDV in samples collected from rabbit farms over a period of more than one year using RT-PCR and antigen-capture ELISA.

Detection of RHDV variant 2 in the Azores

Veterinary Record, 2015
RABBIT haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) causes a highly infectious and lethal disease in European rabbits ( Oryctolagus cuniculus ). In Portugal the disease was first reported on the island of Madeira in 1987 and, in the following year, in the Azores. The first report of the disease on the mainland occurred in 1989.

RHDV‐2 on the Isle of Man and in the Republic of Ireland

Veterinary Record, 2016
WE would like to inform colleagues that we have reached a positive diagnosis (confirmed by sequencing) of rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus variant strain 2 (RHDV-2) infection in a wild rabbit from the Isle of Man and in three pet rabbits from the Republic of Ireland.

Development of an RT-PCR for rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) and the epidemiology of RHDV in three eastern provinces of China

Journal of Virological Methods, 2008
Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for the diagnosis of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) was developed by examining sensitivity and specificity. Samples from rabbits infected with rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHD) were examined to investigate the distribution of the virus in the body.
