A Uranium Tri-Rhenium Triple Inverse Sandwich Compound.

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
Salt metathesis between the anionic rhenium(I) compound, Na[Re(η5-Cp)(BDI)] (BDI = N, N'-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-3,5-dimethyl-β-diketiminate), and the uranium(III) salt, UI3(1,4-dioxane)1.5, generated the triple inverse sandwich complex, U[(μ-η5:η5-Cp)

Unlocking the Full Potential of MgAgSb by Unravelling the Interrelation of Phase Constitution and Thermoelectric Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Persistent secondary phases govern the performance of many thermoelectric materials, particularly of high performance MgAgSb. In this study advanced microstructural characterization for unequivocal phase identification combined with transport modeling and statistical analysis enabled the quantification of each phase's impact, revealing the most ...

High-strength tungsten alloy with improved ductility [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Alloy combines superior strength at elevated temperatures with improved ductility at lower temperatures relative to unalloyed tungsten. Composed of tungsten, rhenium, hafnium, and carbon, the alloy is prepared by consumable electrode vacuum arc-melting ...

Magnetic‐Field Tuning of the Spin Dynamics in the Quasi‐2D Van der Waals Antiferromagnet CuCrP2S6

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reveals 2D character of the spin dynamics in CuCrP2S6, as well as complex field dependence of collective excitations in the antiferromagnetically ordered state. Their remarkable tuning from the antiferromagnetic to the ferromagnetic type with magnetic field, together with the non‐degeneracy of the magnon gaps favorable for the induction of ...

Steep‐Switching Memory FET for Noise‐Resistant Reservoir Computing System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the steep‐switching memory FET with CuInP2S6/h‐BN/α‐In2Se3 heterostructure for application in noise‐resistant reservoir computing systems. The proposed device achieves steep switching characteristics (SSPGM = 19 mV/dec and SSERS = 23 mV/dec) through stabilization between CuInP2S6 and h‐BN.

Recovery of valuable metals from industrial wastes

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2013
Recovery of valuable metals as osmium and rhenium from a industrial wastes are an actual problem. A wastes of copper production treat slime and cake. The content of rhenium in them makes 600 – 2 000 g/t, osmium to 50 g/t.

Reactivity of [Re\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3e(CO)\u3csub\u3e8\u3c/sub\u3e(MeCN)\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3e] with Thiazoles: Hydrido Bridged Dirhenium Compounds Bearing Thiazoles in Different Coordination Modes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Reactions of the labile compound [Re2(CO)8(MeCN)2] with thiazole and 4-methylthiazole in refluxing benzene afforded the new compounds [Re2(CO)7{μ-2,3-η2-C3H(R)NS}{η1-NC3H2(4-R)S}(μ-H)] (1, R = H; 2, R = CH3), [Re2(CO)6{μ-2,3-η2-C3H(R)NS}{η1-NC3H2(4-R)S}2(

The Microcalorimeter Arrays for a Rhenium Experiment (MARE): a next-generation calorimetric neutrino mass experiment

open access: yes, 2005
Neutrino oscillation experiments have proved that neutrinos are massive particles, but can't determine their absolute mass scale. Therefore the neutrino mass is still an open question in elementary particle physics.
