Rheological models containing fractional derivatives
Rheologica Acta, 1970In this contribution some aspects of rheological models containing fractional derivatives are shown. After a short historical review of the application of fractional derivatives in rheology, a mathematical formulation of these derivatives is given.

Rheological Modelling of Asphalt Viscoelasticity
2020The rheology of asphalt binders is an important factor in the design and construction of roads. As polymer modification is now often required to meet performance demands, the rheological behaviour of the binders has become increasingly complex. Within the past decade, a new method to evaluate these binders and their viscoelasticity has emerged – the ...

Rheological Models; Differential Representation
1986The behavior of viscoelastic materials under uniaxial loading may be represented by means of conceptual models composed by elastic and viscous elements. These models are particularly useful from a didactic point of view. As analogs for stress and strain we use the total extending force and the total extension.

Rheological Model Studies in Clay
Clays and Clay Minerals, 1969AbstractThe process of deformation in clays is visualized as the combination of recoverable deformation resulting from bending and rotation of individual particles and irrecoverable deformation due to relative movement between adjacent particles at their points of contact.

Rheological model incorporating gap element
Materials and Structures, 2018Viscoelastic materials undergo creep due to elasticity and viscosity, two intrinsic material characteristics, and a representative rheological model can be constructed for creep behavior analysis. Based on the viscoelasticity theory, this model simulates creep by formalizing elastic and viscous deformations in spring and dash-pot elements, respectively.

Viscoelastic Contact/Impact Rheological Models
2016The first part of this chapter is dedicated to the analysis of viscoelastic and viscoelasto-plastic rheological contact models (linear and nonlinear parallel spring-dashpot assemblies). The linear spring-dashpot model is studied, and a detailed survey of nonlinear models (like Simon-Hunt-Crossley model and its many variations) as well as other types of
