Raised IgA Rheumatoid Factor (RF) but not IgM RF or IgG RF is Associated with Extra-articular Manifestations in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, 1995
In rheumatoid arthritis (RA) seropositivity has been associated with poor prognosis including bone erosions and extra-articular manifestations. However, findings have been conflicting on the association between individual rheumatoid factor (RF) isotypes and extra-articular manifestations.

USE OF ANTI-CYCLIC CITRULLINATED PEPTIDE (ANTI-CCP) ANTIBODIES AND RHEUMATOID FACTOR (RF) IN DIAGNOSIS OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, 2021
INTRODUCTION: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic, inammatory autoimmune disease that initially affects small joints, progressing to larger joints, and eventually the skin, eyes, heart, kidneys, and lungs. This study was conducted to determine the usefulness of antiCCP antibodies and Rheumatoid Factor (RF) in diagnosis of Rheumatoid ...

A double-blind controlled study comparing sulphasalazine with placebo in rheumatoid factor (RF)-negative rheumatoid arthritis

Clinical Rheumatology, 1995
The efficacy and tolerability of sulphasalazine (SASP) was examined in a double blind, placebo-controlled 24-week study of 32 patients with rheumatoid factor (RF)-negative RA. Twelve patients (75%) of the SASP group completed the study; 4 patients were withdrawn because of an adverse event. Ten patients (62.5%) in the placebo group completed the study;

Is measurement of IgM and IgA rheumatoid factors (RF) in juvenile rheumatoid arthritis clinically useful?

Rheumatology International, 2006
The prevalence and clinical relevance of IgM and IgA RF detected by ELISA were studied in 91 patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) and 45 healthy children. IgM and IgA RF were detected, respectively, in 33 and 44% of the patients, compared to 6.7 and 15.6% of the healthy children (p = 0.001 and 0.0006, respectively). The frequency of IgM RF

Relationship between alcohol consumption and rheumatoid factor (RF) with alcohol-induced facial flushing response

Alcohol, 2020
This study investigated the relationship between alcohol consumption with alcohol-induced facial flushing response and rheumatoid factor (RF) in adult men. The cohort comprised 1675 men who underwent a general medical check-up between July 2016 and June 2017, including 355 non-drinkers, 498 flushers, and 822 non-flushers.

Anti-CCP antibodies have more diagnostic impact than rheumatoid factor (RF) in a population tested for RF

Clinical Rheumatology, 2007
To compare the diagnostic powers of rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) in a population selected for its high statistical relevance, over a 6-month period, an informed consent to test for anti-CCP was obtained from 1,025 consecutive patients for whom RF was ordered at a University laboratory.

Rheumatoid Factor (RF)

2018
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease associated with autoantibodies known as rheumatoid factor (RF). RF is produced by autoreactive B cells against self-IgG Fc regions. Therefore, RF is wieldy used in clinical laboratories as a biomarker for rheumatoid arthritis.

Quantitative Analysis of Precursors Frequency of Rheumatoid Factor (RF) Producing Human B Cells

Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, 1988
Recently, a new culture system has been devised which leads to activation, proliferation and differentiation into antibody secreting cells of at least 90% of human peripheral blood B-lymphocytes. The system uses mutant EL-4 thymoma cells of mouse origin for B cell activation and T cell/macrophage supernatant as source of cytokines (L.

Structural features of Fab fragments of rheumatoid factor IgM-RF in solution

Crystallography Reports, 2008
The structural features of the Fab fragments of monoclonal (Waldenstrom’s disease) immunoglobulin M (IgM) and rheumatoid immunoglobulin M (IgM-RF) were studied by a complex of methods, including small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), electron spin resonance (ESR), and mass spectrometry (MS).

The Genetics of Rheumatoid Factors (RF): The V-gene Repertoire of RFs in Rheumatoid Arthritis as Analyzed by Hybridoma Clones

1992
The rheumatoid factors have been investigated in three different phases. The first detection of rheumatid factors and the establishment of the relationship between rheumatoid factors and clinical symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) occurred 50 years ago [53]. The pioneering phase between 1940 and 1950 included the confirmation of Waaler’s findings by
