Strange fluctuations at RHIC [PDF]
Robust statistical observables can be used to extract the novel isospin fluctuations from background contributions in K-short K-plus measurements in nuclear collisions. To illustrate how this can be done, we present new HIJING and UrQMD computations of these observables.

Günter Kelbg, the Kelbg potential and its impact on quantum plasma theory
Abstract Günter Kelbg did remarkable early work in the field of quantum statistical physics, in particular for dense quantum plasmas. In 2022 we celebrated his 100th birthday. On this occasion, we give a brief overview of his main scientific achievements in the field of quantum plasmas, complemented by some biographical background of his research and ...

Explosive collisions at RHIC? [PDF]
Motivated by experimental results from RHIC, we suggest how a condensate for the Polyakov loop might produce explosive behavior at the QCD phase transition. This is due to a rapid rollover of the condensate field below the transition temperature.

Particle Ratios in a Multicomponent Nonideal Hadron Resonance Gas
We have considered formation of a multicomponent nonideal hot and dense gas of hadronic resonances in the ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. In the statistical thermal model approach, the equation of state (EoS) of the noninteracting ideal hadron resonance gas (IHRG) does not incorporate either the attractive part or the short‐range repulsive part

PRODUCTION OF QUARKONIA AT RHIC [PDF]
The production of different quarkonium states provides unique insight to the hot and cold nuclear matter effects in the strongly interacting medium that is formed in high energy heavy ion collisions. While LHC explores the energy frontier, RHIC has a broad physics program to explore the nuclear modification at different energies in a wide range of ...

Anisotropic Flow at RHIC [PDF]
We present the first measurement of directed flow ($v_1$) at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). $v_1$ is found to be consistent with zero at pseudorapidities $η$ from -1.2 to 1.2, then rises to the level of a couple of percent over the range $2.4 < |η| < 4$.

Anisotropic Behavior of S‐Wave and P‐Wave States of Heavy Quarkonia at Finite Magnetic Field
We studied the effect of momentum space anisotropy on heavy quarkonium states using an extended magnetized effective fugacity quasiparticle model (EQPM). Both the real and imaginary part of the potential has been modified through the dielectric function by including the anisotropic parameter ξ.

Expanding Nuclear Physics Horizons with the Gamma Factory
The Gamma Factory is an ambitious proposal for a source of photons with energies up to hundreds of MeV and photon fluxes exceeding those of the currently available gamma sources by orders of magnitude. The paper surveys the new opportunities in nuclear physics and related fields that may be afforded by the this facility. Abstract The Gamma Factory (GF)

Traces of thermalization at RHIC [PDF]
I argue that measurements of Au+Au collisions at 20, 130 and 200 GeV of the centrality dependence of the mean p_t together with p_t and net-charge fluctuations reflect the approach to local thermal equilibrium.

Transverse momentum, pT, spectra are of prime importance in order to extract crucial information about the evolution dynamics of the system of particles produced in the collider experiments. In this work, the transverse momentum spectra of charged hadrons produced in PbPb collision at 5.02 TeV have been analyzed using different distribution functions ...
