Water Transport byCoptotermes formosanus(Isoptera: Rhinotermitidae)
Environmental Entomology, 2014Subterranean termites are extremely vulnerable to desiccation, and high moisture makes their habitat and food favorable for survival and colony growth. Although there is a general perception that termites can manipulate moisture, documentation is surprisingly scanty with regard to how termites transport water and the factors that impact it.

Termites (Isoptera: Kalotermitidae, Rhinotermitidae, Termitidae) of Ecuador
Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N.S.), 2009Abstract Termites are an abundant and diverse group in the Neotropics with about 500 species representing 83 genera. The paucity of the termite fauna recorded from Ecuador is due, in part, to a lack of deliberate surveys. We revise the termite fauna of Ecuador and raise the number of species from 25 species to 72 based on our recent termite surveys. Of

Termiticidal activity of boron dusts (Isoptera, Rhinotermitidae)
Journal of Applied Entomology, 1990AbstractMortality of Reticulitermes flavipes (Kollar) workers was evaluated 1, 2, 4, and 8 days after exposure to boron dusts. Mortality was most rapid after exposure to barium metaborate (Busan 11‐M1), followed by boric acid. Exposure to either of these two dusts resulted in 100 % mortality within 8 days.

Molecular Relationships among European Samples of Reticulitermes (Isoptera, Rhinotermitidae)
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2002Taxonomy and phyletic relationships of the European termites of the holarctic genus Reticulitermes are highly debated and poorly known. Sequencing analyses of the complete cytochrome oxidase subunit II and of a fragment of 16S rDNA mitochondrial genes were performed on 21 Italian and French populations.

Dispersal Flights of the Formosan Subterranean Termite (Isoptera: Rhinotermitidae)
Journal of Economic Entomology, 2015The Formosan subterranean termite, Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki, is a pest of major economic concern. This termite is particularly known for its tendency to establish populations in nonendemic areas via maritime vessels as well as human-aided transport of infested materials. The natural spread of this species after new introductions occurs in part by

L'arme frontale des soldats de termites. I. Rhinotermitidae
