Preservation of rennet producing Rhizomucor miehei strain
Biotechnology Techniques, 1994Different methods are compared for the preservation of a Rhizomucor miehei strain used for the production of rennet, which is used in the dairy industry. The best method was found to be preservation under mineral oil, After 2 years of storage, R. miehei kept its original milk clotting activity, had a lowered non-specific proteolytic activity and ...

Hyperactivation of Rhizomucor miehei lipase by hydrophobic xerogels
Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 2004AbstractAlthough a variety of approaches exist for the immobilization of enzymes, the “science” of enzyme immobilization is still in its infancy. In recent years, considerable interest has developed regarding the use of xerogels for enzyme immobilization.

Biotransformation of oleanolic and maslinic acids by Rhizomucor miehei
Phytochemistry, 2013Microbial transformation of oleanolic acid by Rhizomucor miehei produced three metabolites. A known compound, a 30-hydroxyl derivative (queretaroic acid), and two 7β,30- and 1β,30-dihydroxylated metabolites, respectively. The action of the same fungus (R.

Synthesis of ethyl isovalerate using Rhizomucor miehei lipase: optimization.
Prikladnaia biokhimiia i mikrobiologiia, 2003Immobilized lipase from Rhizomucor miehei (Lipozyme IM-20) was used to catalyze the esterification reaction between isovaleric acid and ethanol to synthesize ethyl isovalerate in n-hexane. Response surface methodology based on five-level four-variable central composite rotatable design was employed to optimize four important reaction variables such as ...

Rhizomucor miehei triglyceride lipase is synthesized as a precursor
Lipids, 1988AbstractARhizomucor miehie cDNA library constructed inEscherichia coli was screened with synthetic oligonucleotides designed from knowledge of a partial amino acid sequence of the secreted triglyceride lipase (triacyl‐glycerol acylhydrolase EC 3.1.1.3) from this fungus. Lipase‐specific recombinants were isolated and their insert sequenced.

Effects of temperature and pressure on Rhizomucor miehei lipase stability
Journal of Biotechnology, 2003Both high temperature and high hydrostatic pressure induce irreversible deactivation of enzymes. They enable the enzyme's thermodynamic parameters to be determined and are used to study the mechanisms involved in biochemical systems. The effect of these two factors on the stability of Rhizomucor miehei lipase have been investigated.

Crystal Structure of The Rhizomucor miehei Aspartic Proteinase
1998The composition of milk has been reviewed by Jenness (1). It is an extremely complex mixture of components, consisting of water, lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, salts and many miscellaneous compounds. The largest component is water. The lipids are 98% triglycerides, mostly as globules. Carbohydrate is mainly as lactose.

Optimisation of n-octyl oleate enzymatic synthesis over Rhizomucor miehei lipase
Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering, 2006Octyl oleate is a useful organic compound with several applications in cosmetic, lubricant and pharmaceutical industry. At first, the enzymatic synthesis of n-octyl oleate by direct lipase-catalysed esterification of oleic acid and 1-octanol was investigated in a stirred batch reactor in solvent-free system.

First case of fatal Rhizomucor miehei endocarditis in an immunocompromised patient
Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease, 2020Rhizomucor miehei is a cause of bovine mycotic abortion and mastitis and has rarely been described in human disease. Here, we report the first isolation of R. miehei from native mitral valve tissue in a fatal case of endocarditis that substantiates its pathogenic potential.
