Extending Seqenv: a taxa-centric approach to environmental annotations of 16S rDNA sequences [PDF]
Understanding how the environment selects a given taxon and the diversity patterns that emerge as a result of environmental filtering can dramatically improve our ability to analyse any environment in depth as well as advancing our knowledge on how the ...

Diversity of plant growth-promoting bacteria associated with sugarcane [PDF]
The sugarcane (Saccharum spp) presents economic importance, mainly for tropical regions, being an important Brazilian commodity. However, this crop is strongly dependent on fertilizers, mainly nitrogen (N).

BENEFICIAL RHIZOSPHERE PSEUDOMONADS
Among the many bacteria present on and around the root, Pseudomonas bacteria are (among) the best root colonizers and therefore very suitable to apply for beneficial purposes. In this chapter, we discuss the possibilities to use such bacteria for the following purposes: fertilization of the plant, stimulation of plant growth and yield, reduction of ...

Root-induced decrease in metal binding capacity of dissolved organic matters in the rhizosphere: evidences from two convergent studies : S10.01b -1 [PDF]
The parallel understanding of dissolved organic matters (DOM) impact on trace metal speciation in soil and root ability to change DOM concentration and composition in the rhizosphere strongly suggests a substantial alteration of metal binding capacity of

Description and molecular phylogeny of a new and one known needle nematode of the genus Paralongidorus (Nematoda: Longidoridae) from grapevine in Portugal [PDF]
A new and a known longidorid nematode, Paralongidorus lusitanicus n. sp. and Paralongidorus plesioepimikis, are described and illustrated from populations extracted from soil associated with grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) from Escaroupim and Pó (central ...

This study explores how iron and manganese oxides transform sewage sludge into plant biostimulants during composting. Non‐targeted identification reveals the main species of plant biostimulants. Metagenomic analysis reveals that 2‐line ferrihydrite specifically enriches microbial genes for biosynthesis, boosting plant‐growth promoters.

Agricultural management and plant selection interactively affect rhizosphere microbial community structure and nitrogen cycling. [PDF]
BACKGROUND:Rhizosphere microbial communities are key regulators of plant performance, yet few studies have assessed the impact of different management approaches on the rhizosphere microbiomes of major crops.
