A biomimetic artificial extracellular matrix is assembled directly on Pseudomonas fluorescens by co‐assembling amyloid‐like lysozyme and alginate at the cell surface. This conformal nanocoating acts as both a hydration buffer and a physiological priming layer, markedly enhancing desiccation tolerance, seed adhesion, storage stability, and biocontrol ...

Structural and Functional Siderophore Remodeling by Enzymatic Delipidation
A surprising functional switch in bacterial siderophores was discovered through genome mining and the analysis of environmental and pathogenic Pandoraea species. Pandorachelin B, a lipocyclopeptide that promotes swarming motility, is cleaved by a specialized acylase, yielding a ring‐contracted, homodetic cyclopeptide, pandorachelin A, which exhibits ...

We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Bacteria belonging to the Pseudomonas genus are highly successful colonizers of the plant rhizosphere. The ability of different Pseudomonas species to live either commensal lifestyles or to act as agents of plant-growth promotion or disease is reflected ...

Plant root−microbe interactions influence plant productivity, health, and resistance to stress. Although there is evidence that plant species and even genotypes can alter soil microbial community structure, environmental conditions can potentially ...

Safe-Site Effects on Rhizosphere Bacterial Communities in a High-Altitude Alpine Environment [PDF]
The rhizosphere effect on bacterial communities associated with three floristic communities (RW, FI, and M sites) which differed for the developmental stages was studied in a high-altitude alpine ecosystem. RW site was an early developmental stage, FI was an intermediate stage, M was a later more matured stage.

Correcting the apparent priming effect resolves systematic biases in Asian rice fertilizer nitrogen accounting. Net soil retention drops below 7%, while 48% of fertilizer escapes, inflicting US$98.53 billion in annual reactive‐nitrogen damages. High‐resolution mapping uncovers N‐risk archetypes across 42% of the rice area, delivering a spatially ...

Growth of cucumber plant is suppressed with increase of CO2 concentration in the rhizosphere. In the present study, effects of CO2 concentration and temperature in the rhizosphere on growth of cucumber was investigated.(1) In order to find the effects of CO2 concentration and temperature in the rhizosphere on the photosynthetic and transpiration rates,

High Tree Species Diversity Promotes Thermal Enhancement Response of Microbial Carbon Use Efficiency
ABSTRACT Predicting soil carbon dynamics under warming is constrained by limited understanding of microbial thermal adaptation, particularly whether microbial carbon use efficiency (CUE) can adapt to warming and how plant diversity modulates this response. Using soils from a natural tree species diversity gradient in a subtropical forest, we combined a

High abundance of Ralstonia solanacearum changed tomato rhizosphere microbiome and metabolome
Background Rhizosphere microbiome is dynamic and influenced by environment factors surrounded including pathogen invasion. We studied the effects of Ralstonia solanacearum pathogen abundance on rhizosphere microbiome and metabolome by using high ...
